I think the issue is not the poker room. It's some of locals who play. 50% are nice or just playing and that's awesome. But there's others that let the tourist that come to Vegas often like me know they are not welcomed. I live in California and I'm female. I had a local on my last visit yell Infront of the whole table "you're a racist" "don't be a racist" over and over. I never said anything that should have given him that impression. But The dealer said nothing. But that's a very serious and publicly damaging claim to make in public not just once but over and over he said "you're a racist... don't be a racist and your a racist" and It wasn't as if I won money from him, if anything I lost $200 to him! It was just completely unprovoked. He's not the only unprovoked issue either. There was another local... who told at 5am when there was only one table and a short table that... "the seat would be better filled, by just about any one else than you" ( because I don't go into many hands). & other things before I shut down the interaction & again this is unprovoked I didn't win any money from him & I wasn't rude and out of no where & also never met the player before but learned he was a local. These are just the most recent incidents...honestly the "racist" incident is so jarring to be ridiculed in public like that sitting next to a woman whose never met me before. She quickly got up after that outburst. Didn't just make me uncomfortable but made people who don't know me maybe think that statements were from some prior interaction. & can quicky become something other people believe. The way he said it was as if he really meant it and believed it himself. So I don't know if one of the other locals are spreading a huge rumor like that. but it's *huge problem your team need to make sure locals don't feel encouraged or emboldened to treat people who are visitors with verbal abuse when unprovoked. Locals just be held to a higher courtesy standards towards visitors or pay money to stay at wynn and who are only in town for a few days. Racism is very real, very serious and not something that a old man... should be accusing a 30 year old white Californian, who's in a inter racial relationship of 10 years! It's CRAZY! & heartbreaking because even long before BLM and the news coverage. I've stood up for all people... all my life. & I was raised in my middle school- high school years in a black mother, white father house with my mixed best friend. It's gross to be called racist by some old guy who is more racist of me being white. and I cried after this guy said that to me over and over. Truly wynn room team needs to know your locals are going to far trying to get someone to tilt. The tilting strategies don't work. Some people won't play if they get provoked by being called racist. & now I know there's evil hate filled regulars who play and who are capable of anything who can't keep in their evil energy inside, while playing a game in public. I used to recommend this poker room to everyone. I think I might have to just stop telling people it's a fun relaxing room. Because some (not all of the locals) are people to avoid...
Read moreThe ultra late night dealers past 3am are the least professional & the most gossipy. Honestly when I come to vegas I tend to play 1-3 all night into the morning. I notice dramatic shift. I now feel zero interest in staying past the shift change and will pay more attention in the future in playing past a certain time. Also as the table dwindle down to 1-2 tables the gossipy/ rude remarks from dealers seem like the worst idea because IT makes me feel less interested in giving the tip to the dealer (wanted so badly) & that makes it worse but sorry I'm not going to ever tip a dealer If I have a strong memory of being rude to me or targeting me or saying rude comments to me or about me or to other dealers. It's a cycle but being professional is about not taking anything personally. Because It's not personal until you make it personal. If I don't tip because I'm losing & I win a $30 pot and unlikely tipping.... guess what when you start gossiping about it... that's on you & that on your team to keep professional. & realize being unprofessional never makes a problem you have with a guest better only worse. The dealers talking amongst themselves & then overtime they feel it's okay to talk to me rudely or start targeting me. Late late night they need to have a staff meeting. Sometimes I'm helping keep your last table open... You guys should be friendly & professional then when appropriate I tip. The problem with the expectation of a tip especially late late night is it creates an entitlement to it. A dealers takes it personally & over time the dealer show resentment & ppl see that entitlement & unhappiness & that discourages a person from tipping & couple that with losing too. Get your tips from the winning poker players/The successful poker players because us losers are trying our best to win anything back. Despite this issue Wynn poker is the only place I'll sit down in Vegas. So still the very best poker...
Read morePlayed there twice for a rough total of 7-8 hours in that short time I saw a dealer verbally berated by rude players with no consequence, I saw players speak in MULTIPLE MULTI-WAY hands in another language WHILE THEY HAD CARDS and the dealers let them get away with it, and I had to sit next to someone vaping which is against the rules.
As far as the 2-5 games go even though they are soft and easy to beat, they’re 9 handed so they’re slow, and tables are also too small for that many people. Also not a fan of Mississippi straddles so that’s another negative.
All in all I’d say it’s my least favourite rom in Vegas, I wouldn’t go back, and I wouldn’t recommend...
