TLDR: Don't go here unless you're okay with made up prices, added tip without your knowledge, and stylists "forgetting your hair wasn't long" when they up-charged on a trim for your already short hair.
I had the displeasure of visiting this salon the past weekend to get a little touchup before going out and at first they quoted $130 for a trim and when they examined my hair and length they said they would actually reduce the price to $75. Imagine my surprise when I go to check out and my total (just for the trim) was actually a whopping $175. When I ask why the price is so much more than was I was originally quoted and they said it was because I had long hair.
MIND YOU, I walked in with my hair being just to my shoulders, I don't know how that is considered long; or how the stylist got amnesia between the beginning of my appointment and the end of it. I was starting to get irritated at this point and just wanted to leave.
They brought the price down $175 to $150 (how generous!) and since my husband was with me and also got a cut, he told me to not bother myself anymore and paid to leave. You'd think it'd be over by now but I look at the receipt and it says I paid $53 for tip! Why the hell would I want to tip after all this? I wasn't given a tip screen. I don't know how they got the ability to read minds and decide mine was saying, "time to give them a fat tip!" but it's been an egregious experience to say the least. Especially when you're just on vacation not thinking about getting scammed by stylists at a supposed luxury hotel.
IF the cut at the end was gorgeous and was more than a slight trim, I wouldn't be writing this; but if you don't want to pay $200, for a cut you could get at your local supercuts for $20,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy mom and I went in for a Signature pedicure and were told prior to coming in that the appointment would take 1 hour. While on the phone, the receptionist knew we were only interested in a pedicure but yet decided to up sell other services to us. Although she told us we had to be there in 5 minutes because I just called to see if there were any availability, she continued to waste my time by trying to get me to do other services. In short, we rushed out of the room to make it there on time. When we got there, it took them an additional 7 minutes before we were seated. The entire appointment we were just watching as they rushed through us. The tech who did my mom skipped a procedure until my mom mentioned it to her. Everything was like boom, boom, done. Then they placed our slippers on after the last coat of polish and basically kicked us out. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left took exactly 45 minutes (including the 7 minutes we had to wait around). On the way out, go figure they rushed through us.....they both had other clients waiting. A terrible shame that a hotel of this name that is supposed to deliver high quality services especially also because of the price.....failed to do so miserably. Funny enough....I did see the bad ratings on google but didn't have time to read it. I should of and it would of save my mom the disappointment and anger (lol)....I had to hear it the entire night from her.
So do yourself a favor.....don't go here unless you want to ruin your day or trip and be angry after this visit. You will be happier physically throwing your $110 cash in the toilet and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have visited the encore as well the Wynn salon and spa and overall, the salon itself is nice. The ambiance is inviting, and the staff are friendly. However, my experience was dampened by a few factors, primarily the mandatory 20% tipping policy.
While I consider myself a generous person and have no issue tipping above 20% for exceptional service, being obliged to tip at least 20% regardless of the quality of service felt uncomfortable. As a business owner myself, I believe in rewarding excellence, but tipping should be voluntary and reflective of the service received.
Unfortunately, the service did not quite meet my expectations. While some of the services was satisfactory, when it come to the hair cut it fell short of the precision and attention to detail I usually expect. Despite this, I still felt obligated to tip the full 20%, which left me feeling dissatisfied as a customer.
Overall, while the salon itself is aesthetically pleasing and the staff are pleasant with some room for improvement as we are still not in the robots Era, the mandatory tipping policy and lackluster service detracted from the overall experience. I hope the salon considers revisiting their tipping policy to provide customers with more flexibility and ensure that tips are truly earned through exceptional service and donāt obligate customers to tip if we donāt feel it was well...
