I’ve had the pleasure of living at The Amble for almost two years, and would absolutely stay longer if I weren’t relocating to a different city. I can genuinely say I have nothing but positive things to share. Candice and Mark are exceptional — they prioritize the safety, cleanliness, and overall enjoyment of the property for all residents. Here’s some key highlights:
• Neighborhood: The Amble is perfectly situated in the heart of Old City, offering a unique mix of historic charm and modern convenience. Landmarks like The Liberty Bell, Elfreth's Alley, and the Betsy Ross House are just a 5-minute walk away, while the area also has fantastic bars, restaurants, and shops. The 2nd Street station is also right next door, making it super easy to hop on the subway.
• Amenities: The gym has all the essentials for a solid workout, while the rooftop provides a perfect space for hosting or relaxing in the sun when the weather is nice. For those who work from home, there are private telephone rooms with computer monitors. I love how Candice personally reached out to residents asking for board game suggestions for the lobby, encouraging a fun and social community vibe. Thoughtful seasonal touches — like fresh flowers around the holidays — make the space feel even more welcoming.
• Apartment: The apartments are basically brand new, having been built just two years ago. The layout is well thought out, maximizing space and providing a comfortable living experience.
• Noise: My unit is on the west side of the building, so I can’t speak to the east-facing or street-facing units, but I’ve found my apartment to be surprisingly quiet. There’s some occasional noise on Friday and Saturday nights from 2nd Street, but outside of that, it’s calm.
• Other Considerations: If you're new to the area (like I was when I moved here from out of state), a couple of things to note. The neighborhood doesn’t have as many gym class options —your main choices are City Fitness and Together Pilates. Grocery stores are limited, with the closest chain options being Giant and Acme, both about half a mile away. Personally, I opted for food delivery to avoid the hassle of carrying heavy bags on that walk. Similarly, for fast casual dining (think Chipotle, Sweetgreen, Cava), the area doesn’t have a huge selection, but that’s a general feature of Old City, not a downside of The Amble itself.
If you’re on the fence about signing a lease, let this be the nudge you need! You’ll be in great hands with Candice and Mark, and I can’t...

Between the two of us, we've lived in a couple apartments in Philly and have toured several....Amble is the best by far. Candice and Mark have made touring, move-in, and our general time here very smooth and enjoyable; they're clearly dedicated to giving residents the best possible experience. The apartments are spacious, well-kept, clean and affordable, and we love the amenities here (especially the gym and rooftop). Old City is also a wonderful area to live in -- lots of restaurants, cafes, green spaces, paths to bike/run, etc. We couldn't recommend Amble more! We'd give it more than 5 stars...
