Going to this bar was a bit of a last resort. We went in and found a table and sat down. It was a really busy Saturday night so I was happy to find a table. After about 7 minutes of waiting and checking on the menu, I believe a head waiter came by and asked if we were being helped. We told him no and he went to go get a server for us. 10 minutes passed and nobody came. We then went to a bar and got 2 Moonshine Mojitos which were good. Afterwards we sat at a different table and a server came to us and took care of us. The service was overall ok but it was a packed night so I understand they had a lot going on. After we got a server to help us, the rest of the night went ok. AMBIANCE: The theme of the bar is pretty cool, moonshine themed. I liked that they had an extensive drink menu featuring moonshine in all the drinks. I also like the different games they had available at certain tables. That was a fun thing to add to the bar. The DJ was playing decent music for me. He was playing to the crowd but it really wasn’t my kind of crowd to begin with. FOOD: I had the sweet BBQ wings (I forgot the actual name) but they were ok. The meat wasn’t really seasoned , it was just plain wings tossed in a sauce. The sauce was good but I wish the chicken itself was seasoned too. DRINKS: The Moomshine Mojitos were ok. I had 2 total, I would like to try their other drinks.

What a great place! It was our 16th anniversary and we were fortunate enough to be introduced to JJ Bootleggers from our Grim Philly haunted pub crawl tour guide. The atmosphere is fantastic. Great fun vibe with all ages here. We enjoyed great moonshine cocktails and had delicious food too. Try the cheese steak egg rolls--they are phonomenal-and try the moonshine wings. These are the best wings we've ever had and quite honestly if we lived closer I would go back often. There were also games and karaoke with a great sound system. The staff is very attentive and so friendly. I think we've discovered pur new hangout when we get into town. Please visit, eat and drink-you will not be disappointed.

If I could give this zero stars I would. I waited for a table and was told we would get the next table available. Another party snatched our table and the staff was extremely unhelpful. They didn’t give us the table as promised. When we finally sat down they lasted about 25min to even give us menus. I had to walk inside to get the menus myself. Service was extremely poor, very non-attentive, no sign of interest in customers to get waited and when requested the guys who was handling things just waived us off. And the drinks are terrible they taste like juice. Do not come here. Spend your money and time better elsewhere

I'd like to start this message stating that both my wife and I have worked in the service industry for a combined 40+ years and held a variety of different positions during that time. I state that because we hold a certain bar pretty high when it comes to what we consider "excellent" or "above average"service. I don't mean that we are the "prissy" type or what anyone would consider to be "stuck up" by any means, we have just seen so much over the years that we've almost become immune to the variations of service received when out together. On that same token though , when one displays impeccable service, we feel it is only right to inform that person and their place of employment about the exact experience, so here goes :

We finally had a night off together and decided to try something new and find a place that we haven't been to before. After some searching, my wife saw JJ Bootleggers during her online search and we decided to give it a shot. We read a little bit about it prior to going there, but really just the basics. We arrived and both agreed that the layout was very open and had a certain vibe about it that we really weren't used to (in a good way), like something new and exciting. Well that it definitely turned out to be ! Overall the atmosphere, food and drinks were very good and the service was even better! Hence the main reason for this review. A gentleman by the name of Eric (didn't get his last name) was our bartender and mainly the person we interacted with the most during our time there. Taller, built, dark haired guy (whom my wife seems to feel the need to remind me she finds "very attractive" 😡😂) was really on his game. Attentive , clean cut, knowledgeable, polite and overall just a pleasure to converse with about different topics. When asking a few questions about the variety of specialty drinks that use moonshine as the main ingredient, Eric literally described in detail the drink build and recommended his choices based on our preferences. Again, we read the description on the menu, but not being too familiar with moonshine in our usual drink choices, he really took it to a new level ! My wife went with the "Electric Lemonade" and I chose the "Johnny Cash" to start off . Both were amazing and not our original choices before Eric explained further. My wife and I joked that he must have thought we were secret shoppers because he was really exceeding all expectations that we had and then some. After trying more drinks and eating a bit, we decided to wrap up what was a great night and head home, but not before I tried to persuade Eric into coming to work for me at a few bar locations that I currently oversee. Although respectfully stating that he really liked working at JJ's but was grateful for the offer, I left him my business card and a standing offer anytime if needed !

In closing, Eric thank you again for literally crushing our expectations of service and making our night out a wonderful experience !! We don't get out often due to our line of work and hours of operation, but we absolutely enjoyed this past one and the stand out service provided !! I hope this message gets to you and more so your management team! Well done Eric! Ps: my offer still stands! 👍

Thanks again and keep up the great work !

Much appreciated...

Beware of getting scammed here. I was out with some friends celebrating my birthday at axe throwing and decided to stop here for a couple of drinks right after. Definitely feels like a college bar at this point, so wouldn't go back for that reason. It looked like half of the customers were younger than 21. In reading other reviews, it seems common that they knowingly allow underage patrons in as long as they pay at the door. Let me get to my main point here… the focus of this review is on them blatantly scamming me. I only paid for one drink on my own credit card that night at JJ's. It was for a high noon, which was priced at $7.70 before any tax or tip. The receipt had line items below it for 10% alcohol tax, and then a 21% "mandatory service charge", totaling to $10.10 at the bottom of the receipt. Since they already added a mandatory 21% tip to the bill, I didn't wish to add any additional tip. I wrote a horizontal line through the tip line area and wrote $10.10 as the final total. They don't give you copies of the receipt for you to keep, so I don't have any record of it on me. I checked my credit card statement today and it shows a posted charge of $11.11 from JJ Bootleggers. It's not what I wrote on my receipt, but it's also not enough extra money charged for me to waste the time out of my day to contact my credit card company, reach out to the business, etc. so they know EXACTLY what they are doing with adding a small unauthorized amount to my tab. Dirty scammers, fraudulent workers, would avoid...
