Although Juju was all that everyone reviewed my only issues are: • price increase noted i($40.00) in review posted 7 months ago however in the newest post from 3 months ago a client is gushing over the price ($20.00) which leads to me to wonder how and who are being up-charged to the new non universal "fee"...I was a brand new client (as was the ($20 post) and had a DRY hair cut - no wash - shampoo or conditioner and I left with my hair wet and no product used at all. It feels as though the sliding scale appears to be based on how a person "looks" rather than one fee for all. I made & own the mistake of not inquiring service fees PRIOR to sitting in the chair however I based this on the most recently posted review...sadly I didn't scroll down to read further. In the end it troubles me that people think they can look at a person to know what they can afford rather than keeping one price to all customers . Appearances in most cases are always deceiving! Note to self do not wear items that give the impression I am made of money! In this economy only the rich got richer....buyer beware, ASK FIRST for pricing to ensure you are being treated equitably!!! Juju was very nice but it's a most unpleasant walk away, feeling I was deceived...

I went here after reading raging reviews but was utterly disappointed. She is nice and talks really nicely so I did appreciate that. But my haircut + blow dry experience was bad. The shampooing was extremely harsh in terms of both the shampoo used and extreme pressure applied on scalp using nails. Despite mentioning about the nails, she didn’t understand. Haircut was fine. She does it quickly and looked precise. The lowest point was the blow out. When she started drying, I specifically asked her that I want curly ends to the layers. She nodded and proceeded with a straight hair blowout! After she was done, I was in shock and just wanted to leave. But she also asked my partner about the look and he exclaimed that I had asked for curls at the ends. She said it would not have looked nice for my thick hair and my hair had grease!! I don’t understand how she could make that decision for me! My natural hair is wavy and has natural curls. Also, she had shampooed my hair(very harshly as I mentioned) to remove the oiliness.

Lastly, I also went here because it’s supposedly affordable but $65 seemed like a rip-off for the quality of products and service I received. Needless to say, not going back here or...

An amazing haircut at a price more affordable than other salons in Centre City, done by a woman with a heart of gold. I’ve heard many great things about Juju and am so glad to have crossed paths with her.

Quick yet methodical, Juju engages in small banter with you while still focusing on your haircut and ensuring you look presentable. Her blades will never leave your hair even as she’s catching up with you.

I have hair on the thicker, wavier side and Juju knows exactly what to do with it. We also bonded over our Southeast Asian roots which made for a lovely afternoon with her.

Because she prices her cuts a little on the lower end, please tip her accordingly! An honest business like hers should continue to stay in business.
