This is the second time I visited tattoo moms first time was after the tattoo convention just to check it out. What a cool really unique place that was two Saturdays ago wasn’t able to spend a whole lot of time because we had other plans for the evening, I decided to take another friend and visit it during the day to check out their food because I understand they have vegan options. I’ll talk about that in a little bit. We walked in as they had just opened and there was a few people in there. Being able to get a better look at the place I was really impressed how clean this place was when we were there on Saturday night. It was hard to tell because there were so many people and all the cool Stickers, Art, signatures, graffiti at first, I was thinking this must be a little bit grungy…. no at all the manager that was there was really a nice guy and loves the place and gave us a tour and I’m grateful for that from the top to bottom is place was well maintained and very clean usually go into a bar that’s busy and you can smell the old beer on the floor and you can see the crust if you know what I mean really cool lighting throughout very unique in every way downstairs had a cool little nook right across from the first bar you’ll see in the pictures, as far as the food goes, I like to be as truthful as possible. They have a nice vegan selection, we ordered the Vegan pickle and fried chicken sandwich, the vegan hot honey chicken sandwich, a vegan burger, the chipotle bbq tater tots, the Parmesan pepper fries, in the barbecue vegan wings The chicken in the sandwiches were decent pretty much sure they were all the same. I could be wrong just with different sauces that lettuce, tomato, and onion on each one was nice and fresh. Here’s my only gripe The buns were Hum drum at best I say this because I think they are decent, I’m just not sure if they were that fresh and they were not toasted which really needs to happen on a sandwich like this. It makes the whole sandwich come together the bread itself while it is a good role you can always tell if it’s a little bit older if it breaks apart too easily. All Three were the same, we all know that the bread helps make the sandwich here in Philly. The tater tots and the Parmesan pepper fries were really good at first. The problem is the toppings ran out immediately so halfway through we’re eating plain tater tots and plain fries. We also ordered the vegan wings. I thought they were pretty good. This would not hold me back from coming here again it’s such a unique atmosphere so clean such nice people. For me If you’re gonna put food out, make it the best you can...
Read moreI had no issue with the food I ordered but the customer service was unnecessarily bruising. I ordered for the first time here and was extremely excited to try their vegan options. Now, while nearly completing my online order, I was given the option to check off curbside pickup and appreciated it because I’m never one to not just go in and grab my food from a restaurant, but today’s a chilly one in Philly and I appreciated that offer and took them up on it. So, once I completed my order and waited 20-25mins for its completion, I received a text stating to call them so that my order could be brought out. While doing so, a gentleman answered the phone and kindly got my order’s name and then asked what vehicle I had and I told him while also stating what store I was in front of to make his task a little simpler. I can assume but am almost sure that our call was on speaker based off of a second voice speaking/responding unnecessarily, in close enough range to hear quite clearly state rudely, “if you’re right there then why don’t you just come and get it yourself”. I didn’t expect that whatsoever and it really pierced me to be honest. We as people go through enough on our own day to day and that moment sent me through a spiral to every recent undeserving treatment I had to face and put behind me. Talk about reopening a healing wound smh Instead of allowing anyone to bring my meal out, I got out of the vehicle and went to the door where I was met by the kind gentleman who I spoke to on the phone (I knew his voice) and hurtfully told him I heard everything that was said after he finished speaking and how unfair that was. I actually heard and saw the face of who had spoken those words as I was met at the door by kindness. He (kindness) replied that he was sorry and that’s not how they do things there but unfortunately one bad apple can certainly ruin it for the bunch. The food is well but I don’t think I’ll ever be able to return because that experience is just one I personally won’t forget. I am though proud of who I am today for not responding with hate… Peace truly to the offender, you have no idea what you shook up today but I will move forward and continue to move in love because it’s all I’ve known, I just pray you’ll learn that words have much more of an effect...
Read moreA vegan, a carnivore, and a veg-curious walk into a Tattooed Mom. There's no joke, it's just what happened with me, my BFF and husband the weekend before last. From what I had heard, I was expecting my vegan friend to be in heaven, but I was thrilled that my significant other (the carnivorous one) fell in love with Tatted Ma as well.
What we ate/drank —
Vegan Nashville Hot Chk Sandwich: 5/5 - One of the best sandwiches I've ever had in my life. I'm not sure (it was dark in there) but my vegan friend might have been crying as he ate his.
Pickle Fried Chicken Sammy: 5/5 - My husband characterized this as "The best chicken sandwich I have ever had." Although my plan was to abstain from meat in solidarity with my bro during his stay I may have snuck a small nibble of this sandwich. No regrets.
Waffle Fries with Vegan Chz: 3/5 - The fries themselves were flawless, but the collective opinion of the table is that the chz topping was too sweet. Not great, but in light of the glory of the chicken & chkn sandwiches, it was no big deal.
Mom's Mule: 3/5 - Came in a can and the hubs wasn't a fan. He said it seemed a bit too weak (and canned) to feel worth $11.
Mandalorian Punch: 5/5 - Came in a pouch, bartender wasn't no slouch. I don't usually drink at restaurants, but I was motivated to order this because it had popping boba. Very tasty, and it actually packed a... punch.
Dum-Dum Lollis: 5/5 - I like free things, and I like candy. THANKS MOM!
Vibe — The crowd is made up of an intriguing mix of artistic/creatives, LGBTQ+, foodies, and people just out for a good time. The unique aesthetics of the restaurant combined with the intriguing fashions paraded by a constant stream of trendy patrons flowing in and out of Tattooed Mom made for an enjoyable and memorable atmosphere. 5/5
Service — Fast and on point. Everything came out right, right on time. Couldn't ask...
