Located across from Independence Hall, the Curtis Center is an easy, worthwhile detour. When you enter from the Independence Mall side of the building, you are standing in front of The Dream Garden. More than 100,000 pieces Tiffany glass bring Maxfield Parrrish’s landscape design to vivid life. When visiting, you should also consider the quick walk to the opposite side of the building for the atrium and it’s fountain.

Beautiful mosaic made with Tiffany glass, however, not as visually dramatic as some of the Tiffany glass pieces when lit up from behind. The atrium of the building, I imagine redone in the 80’s, looks like a sample room of a marble store. Many different types of marble of different colours constitute the different shaped volumes. Really gaudy.

Absolutely stunning! And such a calm atmosphere. I'd be tempted to just stay here and relax with a book for a few hours. It's a great side quest to a walk around the major historic sites. Don't forget to walk down to the atrium down the hall.

The Curtis Center is a hidden gem in Philly, blending historic charm with modern elegance right in the heart of Center City. But the real showstopper? The Dream Garden—a breathtaking 15-foot-high, 49-foot-wide glass mosaic designed by Maxfield Parrish and crafted by Tiffany Studios. This masterpiece shimmers with over 100,000 pieces of hand-fired glass, creating a mesmerizing scene that feels almost alive. Tucked inside the building’s lobby, it’s a must-see for art lovers and anyone who appreciates stunning craftsmanship. If you’re in the area, step inside and be transported into a world of color...

The Curtis center was originally a printing center. The building is now offices and an event venue. The best kept secret is the amazing Louis comfort Tiffany mural in the back of the buildings main floor. If the entrance on 6 th street is open you will see it as you arrive. If you enter through 7th street you must walk to the back. Totally amazing and gorgeous. This building also houses the Norman rockwell museum. A wonderful short place to...
