Difficult reaching someone here. I visited here last year and loved it! As with most churches, the reverend said if you want to have a better relationship with God then contact us. Everyone says that and I usually don’t reach out after, but that time I did.
So I started with emails; no answer. Reached out on FB and YouTube while the service was ongoing…no answer. So after something like 6-8 months I give up. Then I get curious and I reach out again (recently) and this time through the online contact form. Still no answer.
So I call again because this is weird, right? Maybe I did something while I was there in person?
Finally got someone and they were as empathetic as the wind to a flame during a storm.
No apology, no accountability, just the usual “it’s not my fault” line: “I check it everyday, several times a day, maybe you spelled it wrong” …and mind you the person said this to me after pushing me at the beginning of the conversation by asking more than once for the reason for my call.
(Because calling someone and saying that they’re being contacted because there’s been no reply from them appears to not be a valid reason for a call…smh)
Anyways, at the end of the day, I’m big on accountability and my threshold is much lower when it comes to religious institutions that are supposed to be reflective of the best parts of humanity.
I’m sure the other ppl there are cool and I have no issues with them, but this experience alone has left me to look and connect elsewhere if ever I’m in the area. Glad to have to...
