Short summary: girlfriend went in for a bleach touch up, they made mistakes, they "fixed" it by bleaching her entire hair instead, girlfriend ended up with a style she didn't want and it costed $200+ and 3+ hours more than expected.
For context, I've been a customer at this salon a few times and had good experiences myself (asian male, have received hair cut, perm, and permanent color). So I recommended the place to my girlfriend (asian female, seeking a bleach touch up).
She wanted to get a bleach touch up for her roots, as her hair was previously bleached (orange/brown) but new hair grew (black). She went in for an appointment which should have cost about $100 and 2 hours. As a stylist applied bleach on her roots, one of the stylists was working hastily and a few drops of bleach got on her unprotected orange hair. Then when customers started piling in, they started rushing so much that the lathering technique was clearly off. On top of that, the bleached area became too blonde to match her existing hair.
They tried to brush the mistake off by trying to fix it without communicating. They brought five bowls of bleach and started bleaching her entire hair, and it was too late by the time my girlfriend processed what was going on. No explanation was given and no consent was asked for. To be absolutely clear, she did not want her entire hair bleached at all and she was not ready for such a situation.
They charged full price for their mistakes, which amounted to more than $300. They were bold enough to ask for a tip on top of that. What should have been a 2 hour session became 5 hours and we paid $200 more for their mistakes. She is unhappy with the service and their level of professionalism, or lack thereof. More importantly, she's unhappy with her hair; not only because the end result is unexpected and unwanted, but also because the colors came out uneven. This was a huge waste of time and money.
An ideal outcome would have been for them to admit that they made a mistake, apologize, communicate what options they could offer to amend the issue, and ask her for her opinions. The bare minimum is an apology. Unfortunately they failed to meet any of these expectations.
As such, we will not be returning to this salon and I no longer...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe boss lady who cut my hair twice and mess up twice. The first time I got her and wanted straight bangs and she absolutely cut it too short and made my hair super flat. Additionally, she constantly walked away, even as long as 5mins, to help someone else cut their hair or collect cash during the time she was cutting my hair. And now I received her for the second and she was still walking away or looking into other direction like she was ready to cut someone elseās hair while she was cutting mine. This time I want wavy bangs and she again was my hairdresser. I was hoping that her skills improved after 1 year, but clearly not with the results I received. My hair was super flat as I spoke up to her about it and she told me they were going to charge me extra 10 dollars for wavy hair. So I did not take the offer but ask if my bangs can be a little fluffy. she offer a little curl to my bangs. So she curl my bangs and made it look like pig tail on one side and the other side kind of flat. When I saw this, I knew she messed up. And at the same time looking at her, she knew she messed up and tries to fix it but absolutely did worst. Everyone else that I had experienced where awesome and kind. I hope she can improve her skills or just simply stay in her lane as the boss lady who collects cash at the front counter. This was 40 dollar for this absolutely...

I didn't know just how poor a job this was until I saw it in person. She wanted a red tinged chestnut brown hair color and they made her look like the live action Netflix series, One Piece's Nami. She came back with tomato red hair, completely uneven toned all over and they had the nerve to charge her money for this mess.
Worst of all they got bleach all over her top and ruined it. I'm not upset that they didn't fix it because she was too nice to say anything about how terrible a job they did but I can't believe people working in hair can be this off on their job, do such a messy job as to ruin her clothing and then have the nerve to charge her money on the way out.
If you're too nice or shy to speak up when people do you dirty I would not go here as you cannot expect them to catch their own errors. Maybe bring a pair of EnChroma eye glasses for the color blind so they can get it right...
