Palumbo Recreation Center — Local services in Philadelphia

The Palumbo Rec Center is a hub of the Bella Vista neighborhood. The big field and playgrounds are used daily for school outings, soccer, and for early morning walks with your leashed dog. There are free outdoor basketball courts. Indoor courts for community & league sports. Love that there are separate, spongy surface playgrounds for younger and older kids. The turtle sculpture is a favorite for photos and hangouts. On an average day, you'll see the preschoolers in mornings, afterschool activities, and families relaxing in early evenings and weekends. Very nice, well kept field. Lots of activities, and they stay open tonight. The only complaint would be that sometimes the basketball games result in a lot of loud profanity, but that's the competitive nature of it and besides the facility offers indoor basketball which is cool.

Palumbo may not have all of the equipment that other nearby playgrounds have, but with a giant field include baseball diamond, a two court outdoor basketball area, and a closed in younger kids playground, palumbo is open ended play for a range of ages.
