THERE IS AN ATM ONSITE. So I don't want to hear about the fact that they are cash only. If the fees are too high, join a credit union because the food prices here are NOT. The food is delicious. The employees are passionate about their work. They remind me of the good times from when I worked in a diner.
This diner is THE place to be so expect a wait - but it's never been longer (or even really close) to 15 minutes. They offer outdoor seating that's more readily available than indoors. The bar seating is more available than tables. It's to be expected for literally any diner. Even if you're picky about seating and/or food you're going to have a good time.
The food is so good. It reminds me of home in all the good ways - only the good ways. Once they had a strawberry cheesecake pancake that I had only had one time before. It was incredible. It melted in my mouth. It was so good I almost felt a puritannical guilt for eating it.
The outdoor waiting area is so comfortable. There's a bench for you to sit (I've got you POTS folks) and it's hardly occupied. The indoor atmosphere is homey. It's comfortable, with large windows. The walls are adorned in local treasures and the owners will proudly state their opinions. Regardless of how you feel politically, it's so compelling that a small business will stand their ground in their beliefs. They require cash, but they have an ATM in store and there's a bank across the street. The community will rally and support the restaurant owner's right's to free speech so don't expect a website from the owner - it's fan made. And it's fantastic.
The specials change all the time however the regular menu is delicious. It's like gambling without any risk. It feels like cheating. It feels like the most unethical life pro tip I've accidentally discovered in my entire LIFE. It's ridiculously affordable for the quality of the food you're getting. 5/5. Spectacular....

I came here after a day trip to the Philadelphia's Magic Garden from New York. Hot, tired and hungry, we walked for a few minutes and arrived around 1pm on a Sunday. We got seats immediately and started off with some cups of coffee.
Need a breakdown of what to get? Glory cakes with strawberry and bananas ($9): get it! Pecan waffles with peach butter ($9): get it! Neighborhood frittata ($12): get it!
First off, the glory cakes were hands down the best pancakes I've ever had. It comes with 3 pancakes and real maple syrup. Fluffy with sprinkles of powdered sugar on the outside and moist on the inside. It especially went well not only with the maple syrup but also with the peach butter that came with the pecan waffles, which reminds me.. I loved the crunch of the pecans that came with every bite. I couldn't stop munching on it! As for the neighborhood frittata, it came with roasted red peppers, spinach and provolone. I ordered it with a side of potatoes (you get to pick salad or potatoes), which went perfectly with their homemade ketchup. I basically drenched the frittata and potatoes in their ketchup--it was that good.
We also got the monkey french toast ($10) but it was a bit disappointing and we liked it the least out of all the dishes we ordered. It's stuffed with caramelized mangoes and bananas, topped with caramel sauce and whipped cream--a bit too sweet and a bit too dense for me.
The place has an old-school breakfast diner vibe with limited seats. I wouldn't recommend coming here with more than 4 people. Also, it closes early at 3pm every day and accepts cash only! My friends and I stayed a bit over their closing time but they didn't rush us out. Service is quick, staff are friendly.
Would I come here again? Heck yes. I'd be interested to try some of their other dishes the next time I'm...
Read moreIt's not what it used to be. The quality isn't the same. Looking back I am a bit disappointed though I wanted to be fair in the case the restrictions took part in that. The menu is cringe if you're looking for a meal without politics in it. I want to give the benefit of doubt for I gave 4 stars but honestly I am not sure if I'd go so far out of my way with no parking to try them again. *Seeing as they are okay serving overpriced trash quality pancakes to people on benches next to smelly overflowing garbage cans I don't see a point in giving them more credit than they have earned. The food isn't the same quality it was. If you have any questions about what's in the food or where something is from you get an awkward head shake and "I don't know". The coffee is watery like the grounds were reused and the "cringe" of the menu comes form naming a pancake "There was no January 5th, only January 6th!" So much edge, so woke. As a registered Democrat in a democrat run city I'm telling you your politics ain't covering up for the fact you stopped caring about the food quality so find a better excuse. No one is going to go that far out of their way to eat something that expensive in this economy for a mediocre experience when there's a bunch of places with organic, gluten free, and vegan options and the staff know where they're food is from. That's the last time I give extra stars in a pity review for the sake of trying to...
