The Constitutional Walking Tour — Local services in Philadelphia

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!! We had a walking tour scheduled on August 3rd for two adults and the tour guide did not show up. We were with 8 other people who had paid for a tour and nobody got a cancellation notice. To make matters worse, four of the people were sent to our tour since their original tour with the company was cancelled without the option of a refund. After arriving 15 minutes early and waiting 20 minutes after the start of the tour time I called the company. The operator said she did not know where the tour guide was but suggested I wait and tell the other people who paid to wait too. I called again after 10 more minutes and was offered a different tour time or a refund. After waiting for an hour, I wanted a refund. She took only my last name and said she would process it but it would take a few days since they use a 3rd party company. After a week with no refund I called back and was told they didn’t process the refund, but can send me a check in the mail instead. I gave my name again and the address and it has been another week without a refund on my credit card or via check mailed to my house.

This company is a SCAM—the tour guides do not show up and you have to pay in advance. I will call again to get a “refund” processed for the third time. They take your money and do not provide a service.

This tour was AWESOME. Sooo much relevant information. Our tour guide Vivian was GREAT. His knowledge on all subjects regarding the tour and extensive information is remarkable. He can go very deep into a subject if the person asking is willing to. All this not holding the group back as he answers our questions while we move from one site to another. The mile long tour is an easy walk. Temperatures in the 100F today Vivian was mindfull of where to position himself during stops so we can get in the shade. It is nice to have a tour guide with a degree in history makes a huge difference!

Awesome!! Absolutely awesome!!

Our guide, Andrew, clearly has a passion for Philadelphia and it’s history. And he’s a huge fanboy of Ben Franklin. But he readily admits it, along with his reasons.

Our tour was at least an hour and a half long and I think covered pretty much everything in downtown Philly with big history. His explanations, knowledge, and especially his knowledge of a lot of the backstories and behind the scenes stuff really added to the experience.
