Booked the sunrise flight as a surprise birthday gift for my boyfriend. Our first attempt to fly we were unable to get off the ground due to weather (apparently its been a difficult year for ballooning because of el nino!) but the staff reassured us that we would be able to rebook at our earliest convenience. They even offered us the flight the very next morning but we were unable to attend. We rebooked for a sunset flight a few weeks later.

The meeting place was GREAT especially if you are trying to surprise someone because we meet in a lot in front of a pottery shop...my boyfriend said "We are taking a pottery class at 6 AM!?" It was priceless hahahaha anyways it is easy to find as well following iPhone map directions which is great.

The staff greets you and sets up a cute little table with fresh brewed Cartel (local) coffee and treats. We got their homemade Horchata the second time and it was delicious! Even my boyfriend who doesnt like Horchata tried it and loved it and drank an entire cup lol. Once everyone has arrived, had their snack, and the van is loaded and ready we take off to find a launching site which might be close or just a little bit of a drive. It depends on the wind and conditions.

The staff begins to set up the balloon for launch at the site and they encourage you to help out if you want, get involved, and even tough the balloon as it inflates if you want! That part was really fun. They even had a professional who came out and took pictures of us on the ground and as we were taking off. The actual balloon ride was sooooo amazing it was a gorgeous day, perfect temperatures, the flight was very calm and peaceful and not scary at all. Even though I was a little nervous before taking off I quickly felt extremely comfortable. Our pilot was very skilled, experienced, and knowledgeable and friendly with a great sense of humor. We flew for an hour with incredible views including Lake Pleasant before making a soft landing assisted by the ground crew. The ground crew tracked us to meet up with us right when we landed and began to set up dinner.

The dinner was the cherry on top of a wonderful experience! I was expecting good food but I was blown away by the meal. It was gourmet and delicious! And the post flight toast and drink was so great! The Float company owners utilize training from different chefs, bartenders, and restaurants to put together an absolutely incredible dinner for you. You will be full and happy! They are also incredibly friendly and gracious hosts. We may as well have been in their dining room instead of the middle of the desert! But being outside watching the sunset and having out meal under string lights and stars was beautiful and perfect. I couldn't have asked for more.

My girlfriend and I took a balloon flight with Float for our anniversary a couple of weeks ago. Both of us had never been on a hot air balloon before. We flew out early on a Sunday. When we got to the meeting site, we were immediately greeted with friendly smiling faces and fresh coffee from a local shop in the area. As we had our morning coffee, the pilot went over our flight plan and safety measures. We felt incredibly comfortable and excited. After that, we got in the Float van and took a beautiful drive through the desert during the sunrise in route to the launch site. While the crew was setting up the balloon they let us help or take as many pictures as we wanted. I got a sweet time lapse video of the balloon inflating! After we took off, the flight was incredibly smooth. The pilot explained everywhere we passed over and also told us hilarious stories about previous flights. My girlfriend brought her go pro with her and we all had fun passing it around the balloon to get good shots! When we landed, we were greeted by Matt and Olivia with a huge brunch made from local ingredients and prepared by a local chef. Before digging in, the pilot told us about the history of hot air ballooning and taught us about the custom of toasting the ride. We all toasted to our first balloon experience with hand picked, freshly squeezed, apple cider mimosas and then had the most delicious brunch! Overall I'd say this was one of the best experiences I've ever had and I would recommend this to everyone! The Float crew made the experience much more exciting than I had expected and added so much more than "just a balloon ride." It was a perfect anniversary for my girlfriend and I! Matt, the owner even gave a toast to us! I would recommend Float to anyone who hasn't flown in a balloon before, anyone visiting the Phoenix area, and any locals who want to do something exciting and out of the ordinary in their own backyard. My wife has been dreaming of a hot air balloon since we moved to the Phoenix valley and saw the balloons flying over head everyday. This year, I decided to take her on a ride for her birthday. I wasn't sure what to expect from Float Balloon Tours since we have never done this sort of thing. Im sure glad we did choose them though.

They served us coffee before we went up to keep us warm. They let us participate in actually inflating the balloon! When we landed, we were greeted by the rest of the staff who setup some tables, decorated them with sprigs from the surrounding bushes, and prepared us a delightful breakfast. I thought it would be a cheap breakfast like oatmeal or a small box of cereal, but they went all out and prepared a full meal for us right there in the desert! Wonderful staff; they are energetic and talk with you the whole time.

Our experience was so great that we have no desire to try the other balloon tours out there. We will DEFINITELY be taking another ride in fall with Float Balloon Tours again.

If there is anything negative about Float Balloon Tour, it would have to be that they dont emphasize enough on their site what all your going to get for your money. They have a photographer that rides around taking pictures of us the entire time; the staff are extremely happy to be doing their part which says a lot about a company (if its employees are happy, they must be treated well which means they are going to be happy to treat you well).
