This is THE coffee house in Phoenix!! Aside from the fact that they source the best beans, and that the sweets are homemade and delicious, the staff is always smiling and accepting of ALL of us. They have created a space for everyone to feel welcome. To that, they have a commuity board for anyone to freely post pictures, motivational fliers, and other COMMUNITY concerns. That may include topics that you don't agree with or topics you vehemently support. Much like life, when you see something that you don't like, you have the ability to move on with your day. If you don't have the courage to simply engage Erin in a conversation about it, but have no problem trashing a small business because of, once again, a COMMUNITY board, it speaks volumes of your character and mind set. Ironic that in a space dedicated to acceptance and freedom, some feel the narcissistic need to trash a business because they had their feelings hurt over a flier all while crying about "their freedoms". My guess is that even Inky Bob would take issue with this type of online cowardice. Erin has created an amazing oasis of calm, peace, and acceptance (with amazing sweets and great coffee) amidst a chaotic, judgemental, self-centered time. So, go to Songbird and give yourself some time to enjoy the atmosphere, meet some new people, and contribute some positivity to the world. Did I mention that the sweets are beyond this world? Go. Eat....
Read moreGreat personable staff able to make excellent recommendations! This is also seriously one of the best iced chai lattes I’ve ever had. You can order it spicy or sweet—I went with a mix and it’s delicious iced. (You can also get it with a variety of milk options; the barista said almond is quite good. I went with dairy today though for a straight comparison to how I make it at home.) Lots of tables and work spaces with plenty of outlets and two rooms to choose from. There is also free WiFi available. The front room is light and bright. The back room by the order counter still has plenty of natural light, but doesn’t have as many windows and has less seating (but does boast a couch!). Additional convo spot with armchairs is available in the front room, plus a few extra padded cafe chairs which can be pulled out for use. Lots of great details with warm wood trim and they’ve kept much of the character and charm of the old house by keeping the lovely wood built-in from the original dining/living room. Pastries are made in-house and while there was a delicious burst of lemon flavor in my lemon poppy seed bread, it was a bit dry at 3:30pm. I’m not sure how they could best keep it moist? Perhaps only have a few display slices and keep the...
Read moreOverall: I love Songbird a lot, and when I'm in the area it's one of my go-to spots. Good drinks, tasty pastries, and a chill hippie atmosphere. I do recommend!
Food: They offer vegan pastries and other foods. Everything I've had has been fairly delicious. I personally love their chia seed pudding they make! I am thrilled by the fact they offer FTC Kombucha, if you don't know them, look them up. Family-owned tea/kombucha company in Tucson: so thank you Songbird for selling their goods! Drinks are good and many of their syrups are made in-house. The teas are delicious, so you won't be disappointed if you're not feeling coffee.
Atmosphere: it's in a super cute, tiny house and there's parking on the street and in the back. When you can, steal the luxurious couch by the windows for the ultimate comfort with your coffee. They have a very eclectic and hippie atmosphere and even a porch swing outside for your cradling needs.
Service: Never had a rude barista, but don't expect them to be Dutch Bros. They will serve you up all good things and happily help address any and all questions as well as recommend things if you're uncertain of what to get. Very chill staff, so if you don't like overly attentive staff...
