A close friend of mine who was raised in a different religion reached out to no less than a half dozen Catholic Churches in this dioceses for help, Bible Study, or a men’s group. Saint Lukes in North Phoenix, and Saint Thomas the Apostle being two among them - Not one single church answered his emails or returned his phone calls. Now my friend has abandoned the Catholic faith. How can I be expected to defend the Church when they won’t even do the bare minimum to help troubled souls who seek their shelter and guidance?
Like so much in our society, it seems the Catholic Dioceses of Phoenix is now, solely, a place for the “well to do” donor class, where regular folks are callously ignored - The accountability for these failures should be placed squarely upon the “bishop” of the Dioceses in addition to the lay staff and priests in the individual parishes. So much for imitating Christ. The Catholic Church is nothing more than “big business” these days....
Read moreI lost all faith in the Catholic church after St. Vincent de Paul Church on 51st avenue. When my father had his funeral services there where the priest was disrespectful and told everybody to be quiet and yelled at everybody at the funeral service. He then didn't have my father's name correct and he didn't have my brother's name in the funeral. He was just In his own world. My family had to Go down there and Make a formal complaint and then we made a formal complaint with the diocese. They did absolutely nothing. They held no accountability and they do nothing and it made me think how disgusting. I believe in God but I no longer believe this diocese. I feel sorry for how downhill things are going and they allow A priest like that to treat family members so inhumanely at a funeral. Zero...
Read moreI moved here from Michigan a couple of years ago. I wish there were more English evening masses. I’m Middle Eastern. My family and I have not attended the Catholic Church in so long because all the evening masses in my surrounding area which is in Glendale, are in Spanish. I find this very unfair for the people that do not speak Spanish. I understand that majority of the people living in Arizona are Spanish but I’m very disappointed that all the evening masses in my area are in Spanish. There are a lot of times that my kids cannot attend the morning mass and I can’t find a church near my house that has an English mass. I’m praying that this could...
