Great new addition to Phoenixville. The location is great as it is right on Bridge Street and it is located in one of the most historical buildings in Phoenixville: the main office for the former Phoenix Iron & Steel Factory. The ambiance is simple, comfortable, and modern. Almost too modern considering the building's aesthetic but nothing egregious. Though personally I would hope they capitalize more on Phoenixville's industrial heritage and feel.
We went during the first month of opening so their liquor license was still pending so they offered each person one complimentary drink which was a nice touch. They were seasonal, balanced, and well mixed. The waiting staff was kind, prompt, and attentive.
First course was a fig flatbread which was a nice balance of sweet and tart with the saltiness of the prosciutto and the sharpness of the goat cheese.
And entrees were a carbonara with chicken and braised short rib crepe. The carbonara was solid: good balance of pepper and yolk though it lacked any cured pork: bacon, pancetta, or guanciale so it was missing some saltiness. Otherwise the dish was authentic and true to the carbonara tradition. The short rib crepe was an explosion of flavor! The beef was tender, the sauce was rich, and the mushrooms and crepes added a nice contrast in textures. My gut feeling is this place does crepes well so I would recommend one of their several crepes dishes if you find yourself undecided on an entree.
Dessert was a honey pecan shortbread with a bourbon whipped cream. Show. Stopper. On top of a well baked layer of shortbread was a well spice layer of brown sugar and roasted pecans that gave this dessert the richness of a pecan pie along with the comfort of shortbread. And the spirit infused whip cream gave the very rich shortbread the edge it needed to balance the dessert to one of the best I ever had. No matter what you order here do NOT sleep on the pecan shortbread.
Overall signs are very promising for this restaurant and I am confident they will only get better as they find their stride, keep the menu small, and take customer feedback seriously. Based on this trajectory they will easily be one of the best restaurants in...
Read moreI don’t review places. But this place has been revamped and they are doing it in the best way possible. It just gets me…and YOU if you meet the criteria below
You’re a gamer - ask ‘em about the Nintendo switch scenario ;-) You like a nice night out with outdoor music? Look at the schedule for their live music and events. you want a local oyster shot - yup you want good ambience with good staff you come with your dog, your baby, your whatever and want to feel accepted?
..are you getting it yet? THIS IS …T H E …place!
I have watched the change and this is an absolutely beautiful transformation. You can see that they care about the space and making an experience.
We Spent 18 years near the water and 10 years on the west coast and were extremely particular to where we ate oysters. Somehow Boardroom again GETS IT being landlocked!! - - You need a migneonette- (yup they do that) you need a little tobacco and lemon - of course to use at your discretion (yes they do that) you need a good beer (and whiskey) to wash it down with (yes) seasonal ambience- again I’m a music guy and turned my head phones off to listen to the beautiful holiday mix that was on. Like coffee table jazz 👌 you don’t want to get fully dressed up? To do a nice dinner? - i have been wearing my worst attire! (Sorry it was a test) shorts with holes, looking unkempt- and they not only let me in but treat me like I’m a friend regardless of if I knew anyone on the staff or not.
As of December 2024 . This is an absolutely wonderful establishment that caters to everyone and is just so cool about it. They sell to go drinks and their food is incredible.
I’m finally doing it. I never like to share to the public… But this here is a gem. Please go visit And enjoy The Boardroom in...
Read more2nd visit July 15: Currently this is my favorite restaurant in Phoenixville. Last time I read it at 4 out of 5 stars but I'd like to amend that rating. I'd like to amend that rating. My husband and I went this time and we try to order some of the same dishes and some different ones to see how the chef modified dishes for a different season. There are 2 reasons that I changed my rating in the upward injured my rating in the upward direction. The 1st is that I found the cocktails much improved. They were the same ones that I ordered last time so it was a joy last time so it was a direct comparison. The 2nd is that my husband ordered the short rib dinner crêpes. I often don't order this order dinner crêpes because I find them more of an appitizers portion for a main course price. This was not at all true on this occasion. I will truly recommend them. Hold on for my 3rd visit because it is surely coming.
Very nice addition to Phoenixville's downtown area. The menu has choices that find there roots in many cuisines mainly French and Italian... well at least this season. The scallop appitizers is a very generous portion but just be sure you like a hotter pepper with your acid cooked food. I found it well balanced but some diners may find it too hot. The fish mains, Sole and Halibut, were well presented, well sized and delicious. The cocktails were ok and for me the low point of the meal... but living here one can get spoiled by the distillery across the street from Paloma's. Also I wish that the music inside was a bit quieter. Overall I would...
