Pismo Food Store — Local services in Pismo Beach

(Copied from a friend on facebook) My six year old daughter and I pulled off into this store in Pismo tonight because we got a blowout on the freeway. We had called the tow truck and they were on their way. We stayed in the car until the tow truck got there. But then obviously had to get out while he hooked up the car. So we went inside the little store because it was 45°, dark out and we still currently have ash in the air from all the fires. With Ella’s heart condition and now possible asthma it’s extra horrible for her to be breathing it in that in all that smoke and be in the cold. We bought two string cheeses and told her we were just waiting for the tow truck to hook up our car, she didn’t even answer as she was on be phone the whole time. After about 7 min she took a break from her phone call and told us to get out. I said we were waiting for the tow truck to finish. She said “ you wait outside” “I said you want me and my little girl to go wait in the freezing cold in pitch dark? “ “ She has a heart condition and it’s freezing and raining ash!” She told us to get out and we left and stood outside while Ella was shaking from the cold and hacking up a lung. Unbelievable. I can’t believe anyone would throw a mother and her little girl out like that especially given the circumstances. Needless to say I would not recommend stopping at “ Pismo food Store” across from Rosa’s...

I went in to grab some juice and stuff for my upset stomach, felt like the dude was watching me the whole time as if I was going to steal something. So, I ended up just grabbing waters and anti-acids. To make matters more annoying, I said hello to the guy and just gave me a nasty look as if he was done with life, then proceeded to give him my card to pay for my stuff. Rude,discourteous, and unpleasant. I'm local,I try to support independent businesses. This proved impossible with the proprietor. He barely speaks,and when he does its hardly comprehensible. Should I choose 3 or 4 items he complains that's all I'm going to buy. There isn't one good review for this businesse. I'm not surprised. For me the story was convenient. That no longer matters. I will not return. I told him so. He shrugged his shoulders and said he didn't care....
