I will never shop at this location again. I previously made a purchase and my sales person was Chaz , they were so amazing and had great customer service. I needed to exchange my items for a smaller size and so I came into the store on 4/20/2025. It was easter day so I called ahead to see if it was open first when I called Deborah answered the phone “Torrid pismo beach Deborah speaking” I said “I was just calling to see if you guys were open today” she said “mmhmm” and hung up on me. I was very put off by that but came in anyway I was in the area and live out of town so wanted to get the exchange done. I came into the store and was not greeted even though it was Deborah that was standing in the front folding t-shirts. There was no acknowledgment to me even coming into the store I stood by the cash register and finally spoke out and said “can someone help me?” Deborah walked over irritated . They didn’t have the size in one of my items i wanted to exchange so i asked if i could order in store and have it shipped home for a clean exchange. I was going to be charged $15 more when i asked why Id have to pay more she said because it’s online so I said never mind just return it then Im not gonna pay more for something I already purchased. The next item I wanted to exchange they also didn’t have in store she said they didn’t have online either I literally went to my car and ordered online right away. She was so rude , and unhelpful. I have previously seen her in store and all she did was gossip about other co workers and the district manager. The other employee came from the back I didn’t catch her name and neither of them greeted the next customer who came in. They both seemed so bothered they had to come to work and do their job. Read moreReviewing solely for the staff. I love torrid’s clothing but the people who work there have really just solidified my want to shop online. I’ve gone into the store four times this year, and each time had someone different at the register—every single one of them was rude. Each time I think, maybe it was just this time and they’re having a bad day. Turns out that isn’t the case. I’ve been talking with other people I know who shop there and they have similar experiences. One I went with today said the male worker ignored her when she went in for a pickup.
I went in and the lady working (didn’t get her name) didn’t even make eye contact with me when she asked if she could help me, and when I said I was there for a pickup she got my name and left, came back with a small package. When I said oh there should be one more, she looked irritated and just turned around on her iPad, walked away and gave it to me and her attitude just made me feel like an inconvenience.
I keep hearing that torrid stores are closing, and my god I can see why if other stores operate this way. I’d rather shop online than go in and be treated like crap. Also, if I could make a suggestion, maybe have mandatory trainings on customer service and the positive impacts it can have on people’s...
Read moreThis review is for the employees at the store, let's start with Toni, she's out rude because she was mopping during store hours and when asked her for help, she had a attitude. I was told to come back within 30 minutes and I could use the fitting room. I came back an hour or so later and Amber immediately told me I couldn't not use the fitting and Michelle, whose memory isn't good when it comes to your fellow employee's names, says oh yes she can only because your employee's name she forgot said I could. When Amber let me use the fitting room, I asked her for the district manager info, she comes back immediately with the info, as what I thought it was the district manager name and number. She immediately became very helpful and sweet as pie. Only to find out that it was the number to customer service. When I decided on my items and to check out I asked Michelle for the info and she says I don't know call customer service. When I asked for everyone's name, she reluctantly gave me Toni's name and forgot Sandra's name, when she previously said her name.
