David L. Lawrence Convention Center: Bow Ties and Sundresses Rooftop Party (September 1, 2024)

I and a guest attended the Bow Ties and Sundresses rooftop party at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, sponsored by the Iota Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., on September 1, 2024. The evening was truly a spectacular way to close out the summer, with a gorgeous golden-hour sunset over the Allegheny River, creating a stunning backdrop for the event.

The party featured three incredible live bands: Coty The Artist & The 4 Ever Fan Band, House of Soul Band, and Lyndsey Smith & Friends. Each band played some of the best hits from the 90s and 2000s, keeping the energy high and the crowd engaged. When the bands weren't playing, DJ Blakk Steel took over and kept the dance floor packed with his expertly curated song selections. The music was phenomenal, catering perfectly to the mature, sexy, and professional crowd that filled the rooftop.

The overall vibe was simply amazing—an elegant yet vibrant atmosphere with beautiful people all around. The ambiance was perfect for an end-of-summer celebration, with the evening transitioning from a warm, sunlit affair to a lively night under the stars. The view of the bridges and the cityscape illuminated at night added an extra layer of magic to the event.

However, the food options provided by the Convention Center left something to be desired. We had mac-n-cheese, a chicken sandwich, and a salad, but the selection was quite limited. It would greatly enhance the experience if the Convention Center allowed external catering services to provide more diverse and higher-quality food options. This was the only downside to an otherwise spectacular evening.

In summary, the Bow Ties and Sundresses rooftop party was a fantastic event. The music, the crowd, and the breathtaking views made it an evening to remember. The only area for improvement is the food selection, which could use a significant upgrade to match the caliber of the event.

Would I attend again?...

I wish I could rate this place zero stars. Paid for my parking at the kiosk received my receipt somehow walking to my car I lost the paid ticket. Spent 45 minutes looking for it to no avail. Thought to myself thank God I have the receipt.. drove up to the gate and an employee was standing there I thought fantastic I'll give him my receipt and I'll be on my way!

Wrong..excuse me sir I need your assistance I have misplaced my ticket but I have my receipt could you please let me out. This person looks me in the eyes and said you could have picked that receipt up off the ground I'm not letting you out unless you pay. Well I want to tell you Andy the night manager as you boasted of your management status, I have never been insulted by anyone like you tonight, I'm not a liar or a thief as you so quickly implied with your response to my asking for assistance. Anytime you purchase something proof of purchase aka a receipt is accepted and sufficient proof of payment. To insult people with implications of stealing is serious and not taken lightly in my social circles. I paid you cash again now paying 26.00 to park my car in total, I'll hope you turned the money in and read this to experience the anger you feel by my implication that you would steal the money, just like you said to me.

Andy maybe look at the person you are accusing how many people driving a Mercedes Benz dressed in business attire are trying to beat you for 13.00.

I would love for Andy to come in my business with a problem, so I could humiliate him in front of his family as he did mine.

Clearly Andy is miserable and confused on be how revenue is generated to his employer and the money actually pays his salary. I hope someone in upper management gives Andy a few days off to think about polishing his social skills or maybe choose...

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.If I could give negative stars I would.

I had an awful experience today regarding one of the gate guards. He was an older man with grey hair, glasses and and a hat. I have no idea what's up with the attitude from this gentleman but it was absolutely horrific.

he was completely rude and unprofessional in every way. The older man who was working today Wednesday Feb 23 at 4:30pm should be fired.

I was having issues receiving my credit card back from the machine . He was rude and embarrassing. A terrible human being.

If I see this guy again,I'm asking for management. He should not be working if that is how he is going to behave in...
