On August 11, 2024, I and a guest visited Bridges and Bourbon, located at 930 Penn Avenue in Pittsburgh. The restaurant is a stylish and modern spot that impresses from the moment you walk in. The ambiance is warm, with contemporary décor that mixes sleek lines and comfortable seating, perfect for a casual evening out or a special occasion. The bar area is a standout, with an extensive selection of spirits beautifully displayed, creating an inviting atmosphere for anyone who enjoys a well-crafted drink.
I had the pleasure of enjoying their charcuterie board and a fruit platter. The bread on the charcuterie board was "just okay", and the variety of cheeses and meats complemented each other well. However, the fruit platter left something to be desired. The grapes were bruised and had the appearance of being slightly past their prime, which was disappointing given the overall quality of the establishment. A better display of fresh fruit would significantly enhance the dining experience.
What sets Bridges and Bourbon apart is its outdoor seating. The sidewalk patio area provides a great view of downtown Pittsburgh, making it an excellent spot to relax and people-watch. The private outdoor pods are a nice touch, offering a more intimate dining experience even in the middle of the city. However, be aware that seating inside these pods requires a food purchase of $200.00 or more, which might not be suitable for every guest.
Service was attentive and friendly, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The only reason I’m holding back a full five stars is that the menu is somewhat limited, and while what they offer is excellent, the less-than-stellar fruit platter and a bit more variety could make this place even better.
Overall, Bridges and Bourbon is a great choice if you’re looking for a classy yet relaxed spot in Pittsburgh. Whether you’re there for the drinks, the food, or the ambiance, you’re likely to leave satisfied, though I hope they improve the quality of their fruit selection and perhaps reconsider the high spending requirement for the...

My wife and I were looking for somewhere casual but clean and with good atmosphere after spending the day at the Heinz museum and found Bridges and Bourbon. It was a Monday night, so the wait was basically nonexistent and we were seated at a very cozy but spacious booth not too far from the hostess desk/table.
We ordered a charcuterie board to start along with a couple of drinks (Butterfly Effect and Through the Maize) which were excellent and very visually engaging. The board was very good and the drinks even better. After starters, we ordered our meals - my wife had an exquisite lemon sage pasta and I ordered the smashburger. We grabbed an order of the sweet potato waffle fries too, to share. We were not disappointed! For a smashburger, this was not overly greasy or too rich with fat or cheese. It was flavorful and the burger stayed intact, which is always great for me. The waffle fries were crisp and had a nice, slightly sweet dusting/glaze of maple which we enjoyed a lot too. The pasta was my wife’s favorite and that told me a lot because she’s very particular but ate every bite. Overall, a great way to enjoy casual food in an elevated way.
The best part of the experience though was our server, Robin, who was great not only because she brought us water without us having to ask or aced our orders so we didn’t get delayed with our meal but also conversed with us and was friendly and happy to answer our questions about the menu and the area. She was quick and provided us with our ideal balance of space and check ins on our meal. The meal and experience was super positive which led to us leaving full and with smiles on our faces. It was a great spot in our tour of Pittsburgh and we’d 100% recommend Bridges and Bourbon to anyone...
Read moreHello, this message is for the owner, Scott. Today is 05/31/2022 the time is approximately 8:05pm. While arriving at the front of the business, I had a cigarette lit. I walked up to an employee who was outside at the time of my arrival, and I asked him if I could occupy an outside table and if I could order a drink. He replied to me that he would check with the host, and let me know. While I didn't have my shirt on , it could be found on my bag as I ready to put it on my person had I been instructed to go inside first. A bartender who I am familiar with walked out and approached me in front of 15 to 20 guests. He began to tell me I couldn't smoke at the table, I obliged him and agreed that I understood. I asked him if I left my drink at the table and walked beyond the property line to smoke would that be fine. He replied to me that it's not that it's just me getting up and returning to my seat would disrupt other guests and for that reason he was not willing to allow me to patronize one of the top business in downtown I feel comfortable at.. I exclaimed to him in a question, "is it my shirt? I have one it's in my bag".. he said no Im just not going to serve you, I have a right to deny you service if I want to. I said Scott already laid the ground rules down to me last year.. I haven't been here since .. why are you adding to them and ultimately giving me no way to correct myself if needed. He repeated himself onece again this time enough for the other customers to be hear , and that when I told him that he's defamation my character and discriminating against me as a paying customer for no reason and would talking further legal action. My fist stop is higher up than him . Please get back to me when you can Mr Scott. I've never been made to look and feel so stupid by someone.. just would have never even came there just to have my Character...
