Trudy's Hallmark Shop — Local services in Plano

Very sorry to share that I believe there are some deceptive practices regarding returns occurring at this location, which has been a favorite of mine for many years. I recently purchased two scarves as presents. They were plain- no Christmas or other holiday patterns- and I was denied the ability to return them based on their holiday merchandise return policy which does not appear anywhere on their receipts (in fact their receipts state that returns and exchanges are accepted within 90 days). These items were not placed in a “seasonal merchandise” display and as stated previously, have no seasonal patterns. I was told, politely, to pound sand when I attempted to return these items today. There are two scarves and with tax, the total came to $41.11. I regularly spend at least $400 per year at this store. Trudy’s, you have lost a customer for life. To those who want to continue shopping here, be very careful before you purchase an item that it is not considered “seasonal” or “holiday”...

We were tremendously disappointed with this place, today. We have bought cards for years here, but today we needed (in the midst of the pandemic) to pick up a card, and we have a family member who has immune system issues. We've been told by doctors that we need to strictly limit contact. My wife confirmed that we could pay online for a $12.99 card and asked that someone set it outside the door or bring it to our car to pick it up. The employee asked the manager (a "he" but we didn't get the name), and was told that there is not option for us to pick up this card (already paid for) without walking up to the store and encountering an employee face-to-face. Heads Up Holiday Shoppers!!! Even though Trudy's Hallmark is a retail chain, if you buy a gift for a loved one in a Trudy's Hallmark store, and for some reason they need to return it, Trudy's Hallmark in Killeen, Texas told me that since they don't have it in their store, it cannot be returned!

Today, I went to Trudy's Hallmark in Killeen, TX with my receipt from Trudy's Hallmark Plano, TX from yesterday, and they would not take my return.

Also, a quick internet search to find which Hallmark store carried the item to be returned, revealed that Trudy's Hallmark in Plano, Texas charged $40 for a beaded bracelet that sells for $25 in every other Hallmark store!😱

At a time when we are struggling with our dollars, this is money wasted, and a consumer who left disappointed with the brick and mortar...
