I own three restaurants locating in Mountain View, Los Gatos, and Walnut Creek. I plan on renovating all three restaurants to have the same design. I went here with my designer and contractor to get tiles. We found the one we like and it was in stock, so we paid the price. We were told to come the following today to pick up the tiles. When I went there the next day with my contractor, one of the employees named CARLOS was being disrespectful and rude to us. He stated that our order was not in stock and that if we still wanted it, we have to order the it from the manufacturing site and pay for the shipping and handling. I didn’t want to get the tiles from the manufacturing site. When I communicated that I can wait for a couple of days, Carlos kept insisting that I need to order it from the manufacturing site and pay extra money. His voice tone was high and it was obvious that he was trying to act like the owner of the place. He made us wait and went to look at something. When he came back, he stated that the tiles are actually in stock. When I asked how long it would take for it to be ready, he stated anywhere from 1 to 5 hours and he made it very clear that if I leave the place, I wouldn’t be receiving my order. I had to stay there until the order was completely done. I told him that the order consisted of 2 heavy palettes, and that we can take the first palette as he gets the second one ready. But he said that as soon as we leave the place, our order would be cancelled. So we were required to wait for him (anywhere from 1 to 5 hours) to get our order. As we are having this conversation, other customers were listening to us. Rachel (the floor manager) came to me after and asked what was going on since she had heard me and Carlos talking. I explained her the situation and she immediately told me that I could get the first palette now and then come back to get the second palette in just one hour. Thank you Rachel! Thank you Floor & Decor! But Carlos, I think you need to learn how to speak to your customers and act like a professional. Maybe Rachel...
Read moreThe place was very nice and spacious and my family had a good experience the first time we bought tiles, however my mom and I did not have the best experience. I just wanted to bring this up to anyones attention so it does not ruin another person’s day/experience in the future. I’m all for respecting everyone especially retail workers because it is a tough job, but how can I respect them if they didn’t respect me. We never got approached by anyone at the store despite staying there for at least an hour, but that wasn’t the problem and that didn’t bother me as much. My mom and I asked a worker, I will not name him for respect of him, in the floor and decor shop in Pleasant Hill for help. She asked if there were any of the tiles available and he said he was not sure because he didn’t know the number and said he’ll come back with an answer. We waited 30 minutes. It would’ve been nice if he came back and at least told us he couldn’t find it, but he never did. We just watched him from afar talking to his coworkers. I understand it can get boring because I used to work retail, but at least have the decency to tell us please and not keep us waiting. I ended up finding the number myself which wasn’t difficult because the last four digits were on the top of the tile and the corresponding numbers were on the piece of paper taped. I feel like if I found that after 30 seconds, he could’ve found it as well and told us how much was in stock. The whole time we were there, we received no help besides loading the tiles in our car. We saw him again when we were loading the car and my mom confronted him and asked why he made us wait and how we didn’t want his help. And he said oh my bad I just didn’t. He should’ve contacted us at least so we didn’t waste our time, especially if one of us we’re going to be...
Read moreJust had my first experience at this particular location.
Starting with the good; it’s a huge store compared the ones I’ve been to before. They have a large selection and the store is clean. Most of the workers are friendly and personable.
And the bad; they have incorrect signage. A price was posted for an item and it was incorrect. I only found this out after having them cut my pieces, and waiting quite a long time for service the first time around. There were 2 of this particular item, a small one and a large one. I had the employee cut me pieces of the smaller, supposedly less expensive one. When I got to checkout they told me the price was more than twice as much as what the signage had said. The kicker is though, that the bigger, better one was less expensive than the little one. Still more than the price on the sign, though. So I of course had them recut me the pieces of the bigger better item…since it was cheaper.
They really should have price matched the item for the shown price. It would have been a difference of about $30 total, but they most likely won’t sell this item anyway since the bigger/better option is less expensive. The first employee I got to help me didn’t know what the item was either. I had to explain to them what it was, what it was used for, and where it was located in the store. Service was pretty slow, as this entire process took about an hour.
I will probably go to the San Leandro or Stockton...
