You would think a company solely centered around video games would have a little more introspect into release dates and show consideration and transparency in their delivery dates. Let me share with you just how badly GameStop has handled my delivery of a new game not once, but twice. The same deal.
A game is released that I’m very excited to play. Many of my friends and people within my gaming communities have long awaited this release and have the game and are posting and sharing content with me regarding the new game. It’s fine, I tell myself, GameStop promises via their deliver website that this game will be delivered on release date.
Release date passes, I have no game. The weekend passes, I have no game. I am growing impatient, slowly the first time and more quickly when GameStop is failing me again. I check on Sunday, three days after the release of the game. Sunday is the new delivery date, but somehow the location is still two states away. I again reassure myself GameStop cannot be another day late, I mean “power to the players”, right? The following Wednesday rolls around. I AM POWERLESS AS A PLAYER. I have no game. The shipping has again updated the delivery date to the current day, Wednesday.
I call their store. They say they have many in stock and to call the shipping company and have it cancelled so they can buy my game in their store. I say “I bought the game through GameStop ” and give them my confirmation number. I am told that GameStop online is different than GameStop in-store. I am still unable to get my game.
This has been, twice, the most miserable and dreaded gaming experience of my life. All thanks to GameStop’s slow supply chain, lack of customer service, and inaccurate technology. I will never order from this company again, and you shouldn’t either.
GameStop is unreliable. GameStop is inconsiderate. GameStop is unhelpful. And most importantly, Gamestop is the worst way to get...

I absolutely understand that maybe employees are having an off day, or maybe a customer was rude earlier but I've been in this store multiple times and only 1 time were the employees friendly and helpful. 1 time out of about 30 times, I would actually prefer to drive to Racine over visit this store. From the moment you walk in the door they seem almost annoyed you're inside the store. They seem to busy packaging boxes (I presume shipping online orders) I have actually waited in line (only person in line and nobody at the register) for 15 minutes, while 3 employee's ignored me and either continued packaging boxes or walked away into the back. Now this is how your treated if your just trying to buy something. Trading something in for store credit? You might as well go somewhere else. When I went to trade something in, after seeing me walk in with my trade, the 2 guys at the register avoided all eye contact with me (I assume neither wanted to take in the trade) and continued to work on their shipment boxes for the next 8 minutes as I waited (I was the only one in the store). So finally the one guy annoyingly called me up. Long story short, he tells me the in store credit amount, which look I know Gamestop has to make their money so totally understand, it was less than a 1/3 the amount it said for trade value online. Sooooo I asked why (mind you at no point, did I get snooty or rude). He then proceeded to tell me that the power buttons defective and blah blah blah... honestly I stopped listening because what I didn't mention is that earlier I was there but had to run home and the girl there told me the same price as the internet look up value. That's pretty shady in my opinion, needless to say I left and...
Read moreDo NOT bring your games and systems into Game Stop. You will ALWAYS get pennies on the dollar of ANYTHING you are bringing in and I can guarantee you that they will turn around and mark up the price on what they just bought from you by about 300-500%. USED PS4 Controllers START at $50 in price. NEW controllers can be purchased online at under $20. Anytime I have ever brought anything into GameStop in the entire history of my gaming life, I was always left with the immediate sad feeling after that I certainly gave up WAY more than the worth they gave me and I would never get it back without paying an arm and a leg. Especially nowadays in a world of collectors, just don't. If you asked me about ANYTHING you were considering taking to them in ANY kind of exchange, I will tell you you are going to be swindled and they will always fall back on the protection of "well we are just doing our jobs" "this is pricing set by the company".
And heavens forbid you have a rarity of a game, as the employee will most certainly just be buying it from you for their own collection.
TLDR: DO NOT GO THERE. DO NOT BE SWINDLED. DO NOT TAKE THE INSTANT LOW GRATIFICATION OF TEN DOLLARS. RESIST. GAMESTOP IS A TRAGEDY IN THE GAMING INDUSTRY AND CAN ONLY BE STOPPED BY YOUR LACK OF SUPPORT. This message brought to you by actual gamers and...
