Company policy needs to be updated to adequately explain to customers the risks of doing battery replacements on pixel phones. Statement during phone drop off is they are authorized technicians and need to fix items that come up during a repair which makes total sense. What they don't explain is if THEY break something during the repair because it's a difficult repair to make it is the customers responsibility to cover additional costs for the repair. After initial discussions with the store we were left with a broken phone, green line down the screen, and the microphone was damaged to the point voice calls were difficult to make. We posted a review voicing our displeasure that it was now our responsibility to either deal with the damaged phone or purchase a new one. The district manager reached out and was apologetic. He agreed they had some responsibility here and agreed that they would purchase a refurbished phone and we came under an agreement that we would split the cost of the refurbished phone which came out to slightly less than we would have paid for the battery replacement. Overall a stressful but in the end positive experience. Required us to make an additional trip to the store than we were anticipating, about an hour of phone conversations, but in the end we have a working device that isn't new but has a better working battery than our original phone. The district manager indicated they are reviewing their policies and will be providing more information to customers in the future. I explained to them they need to better indicate to the customer that a battery replacement on a pixel phone is difficult, requires removal of the screen, and they might break the phone during the process. If this was to occur during the battery replacement, the cost of any fixing necessary would be the responsibility of the customer and not the store (this seems like a rather odd stance as a repair store by the way). Hopefully anyone anticipating bringing a pixel phone here in the future gets better information upfront, we would have not elected to have them attempt the battery replacement if this was fully explained. Make sure you do your due diligence before having a repair done at this location. Especially with Pixel devices, we are going to let Google know about this experience, in my opinion if that is their stance and this is a "common" issue for pixel phones, its a service that shouldn't be offered. I had a battery replacement done on an original pixel a couple years ago at the Vernon Hills location that went well without issue which is why we tried it with the pixel 3. Not sure if it was just bad luck or if this is truly a "common" issue but either case, buyer beware, ask a lot of questions.

As you can see from the picture, my Motorola phone was totally fried. Took it to a couple of AT&T stores and then to Best Buy's Geek Squad. The answer was the same from all 3 places. "There is nothing we can do. You have lost everything that was in there if you haven't backed it up. You should throw away the phone as it is a safety hazard." I was devastated. I had tons of memorable pics, emotional text messages and other tidbits, all of which weren't backed up. I made one last attempt and took it to uBreakiFix store in Pleasant Prairie where I was greeted by Juan Luis the Savior. He took a look at the phone and said that there might be hope but suggested that I buy a new phone to transfer all the data. I followed accordingly. Bought a new Motorola, Juan ordered a new battery and transferred everything within a day. Everything worked to perfection. I was beyond thrilled and couldn't thank him enough. It was truly a blessing. Juan had a great personality, fantastic customer service skills and most importantly, knew his work. Thanks again Juan. Keep up the good work!!!

My phone breakage coverage was to be repaired by this company if I broke my screen , however, I broke my screen and it was over the weekend and I didn't have time to handle the situation at that moment so I turned on my old phone so I had a phone to use . After 3 days , I went to deal with it with my Straight Talk account and ended up with a 7 hour phone argument with Straight Talk and with Asurion the insurance Co. For the phone protection, they couldn't do much because Straight Talk said that my old phone was on the account , not my new one so it was NOT covered , regardless of how I explained what happened , TORAL BULL S...T !!!! SO I took my phone to this company ubreakifix and they fixed it in 3 hours ! They were very professional, nice people allnof.them and very informative , they fixed my phone !! Looks the same can't even tell it m as broken, trust me, it was worth taking my $1,200 phone here , they ma d e it new again for $150 and that was n ore than worth it !

Took a phone in to fix the back. Waited a couple of weeks, no updates. Had to go in to get an update. Once the repair was finally completed, we found the home button on the iPhone was broken and replaced with a software screen button. They claimed it was like that, but we had it functioning before we brought it in. They also claimed it was water damaged (we put the phone in a plastic bag quickly and gave it to them that way, iphone has a water damage indicator for water damage, but when asked for evidence of this they refused, which would have only needed a photo of the indicator). I personally think they only claimed this so they are not liable for a refund.

We accepted and took it home, but after 1 day there was an update on the phone and we couldn't get back in because the home button was broken. Because of this we had to take it back in and demand to fix it. They took it back to try and fix the issue. 4 weeks with no updates had to call once and run in just for them to say that they sent it to another location and should receive a update from them( they didnt) tried to call that place and they referred us back to the original place claiming they don't do that.

The person from ubreakifix, Juan, claimed the asurian insurance would help discount the cost of phone repair only to find out from customer service stating the plan he signed us up for doesn't cover phones...

Result of going here was being out almost $200 and refusing to refund it(which would have been more, but asurian refunded after explaining the situation), almost 3 months without a phone and no updates. They said they could continue trying to fix the phone, but they wouldn't even guarantee it to be free even after putting it in this state in the first place.

Theres probably more to say, but there is so much there its difficult to recall everything. This is easily the worst customer experience either me or my girlfriend have ever had. It almost makes me want to change the other 1 star reviews on my profile since by comparison they don't...

Hello! I have such a bad experience with this store! If you would like to repair you laptop screen just don’t do, or you will wait to fix it one month, even on their website it says they will fix same day, 45min. I left my laptop, after few days I called them is it ready, they even didn’t do diagnostic or didn’t pay attention. They just took money for sign up, like they take money but for repair don’t do nothing at all. Then told after, we ordered parts, but didn’t know when it will come. They was telling today it will come, tomorrow. Should ready today. I didn’t see in my life such lier people all stuff who works there was lying. And then after one and half week, they telling that I should wait another two weeks. Even they new estimated delivery day, when they order parts should take two or more weeks. But for me was telling today tomorrow. But when I left my laptop I told, that I’m from another state and if you could fix ASAP call me and do it please. But if long time notice me that I should wait one month! I need this laptop for work and study. And because of them having a lot of troubles. But if they would notice me after couple days, when I left my laptop, I will call to usps person to pick it up. As I said them. But they just keep going to lye! And after one and half week I took laptop with no fix, I couldn’t wait one month to fix, I paid to usps 100$ for delivery to me. Just spend money for nothing...
