I proposed to my girlfriend yesterday, with a family heirloom wedding set that belonged to my great grandmother, everything was great except it was a little too small for her finger so we called Kay and asked if they could resize it, they said they could and to come drop it off.
We came into the store about a half hour later and spoke with an associate about the resizing and he took the ring to look at it under their microscope. He pressed a pen sized device to it in a few places and it beeped. He then handed it back to my girlfriend and said âwe canât resize this, we didnât sell it, itâs not one of ours, it isnât gold, and this isnât a diamondâ.
Imagine our shock! Of course I had my doubts of what this sales associate was telling me, but it was still my great grandmothers ring and it meant a lot to us to keep it, so we went to a local jewler who performs resizing and repairs in house.
The jewler we spoke to took one look at the ring after we shared our experience at Kay and said that âtheyâre idiotsâ. It was real 14 karat gold, real diamonds, and really cool!
I wouldnât let my 12 year old buy silver earrings from Kay jewlers. I will tell every single one of my friends, family, and coworkers to avoid this store at all costs. If their sales associates are trained in identifying anything other than their own products I would be surprised to say the least.
Avoid this store at all costs and instead give your local...
Read moreIâm so disappointed with this company their systems are always down and I just checked three weeks ago and they said I had a warranty and now theyâre saying that I donât have a warranty and then when I called in, thereâs nothing that they can do about it âI would understand if the official warranty is over, but Iâm concerned because both pieces are having the exact same defect. That seems like a manufacturing issue rather than damage from use. Then the person who originally sold me, the bracelet and chain is no longer working with the company, and I donât have a receipt, but unfortunately, I would never purchase anything from Kay drillers again. I do not recommend their items do not last and they their quality is very, very poor. Their customer service is horrible as well. They do not try to help their customers and unfortunately, that is not good for business and that is why I would never ever chat with them again. and I donât recommend any of my friends to shop with them either if youâre thinking of going to cage drillers do not go. They have horrible warranties and their customer service is not good and they donât keep their word and then I paid 1100 for the items that I purchased and they tried to charge me 400 just to fix them. They really suck. Please do...
Read moreThis was my first time buying jewelry from a jewelry store and it was such a fun time. Kayla Luska was extremely accommodating. I didnât feel rushed and she was very helpful and informative. I felt like she was very honest with me about prices and styles which is a #1 thing I look for when shopping for these types of things. Itâs a turn off when I feel the sales rep is not being truthful or is misleading. She was the complete opposite of that. It was helpful talking through ways that Kay Jewelry would accommodate what I wanted if I couldnât find a style I liked that they didnât have in stores, or if I wanted a different finish. She walked us through packages, comparing prices, etc.. She made the experience actually so much fun!! I feel very confident about the purchase I made today because how informative and helpful she was in so many different aspects. I highly recommend talking to her if youâre looking to buy jewelry, Iâll certainly recommend her to my...
