Updated. 7/20/2021. I called the manager about my experience and agreed that this was not in line with the company policies. I havenāt seen this employee since I called the manager.
Original review. I returned the rug that I had bought cause it did not fit our dining room. First, When I arrived, I donāt know where to go to return it, Iām just standing there for seconds to figure it out and then the cashier tells me that I have to be in line to return it. I do what she told me until it gets to my turn. She didnāt ask me anything(it could be nice if she says HI, but no), she just scans the rug, ask for the card, and tell me ācan you pull this card over there for me, thank you ā. The card with the rug I returned. Iām fine with it. Second, I go pick another rug, go check out, still the same cashier. I waited in line, a group of 3 people before I checked out. When theyāre finished, she (the cashier) call the guy in the group 3 people, pointing at the rug that I returned, and say something like āshe(mean me) just return it and it rolls the opposite way, now I have to roll it the right way..ā and they laugh. When I was just behind them not even 6 ft. When the guy comes out to put his card away and comes back and saying ā hope you can get it the right way.ā And they laugh again. Yes, it was my fault that I donāt roll it the right way because it was raining all day today, thatās why I roll it contrariwise so that it not get any wet if it could rain. She shouldnāt do that to the customer. She should know better cause she not a teenager to act like that. She makes fun of the customer, she is rude to me. Iām Asian, she African American. Maybe thatās why she not nice to me. I was crying in the car when I drive home just because of what she has done....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve worked in customer service & in sales for years. My whole life. I canāt understand why when I bring four unused barstools back to a store - ALL WITH ORIGINAL ATTACHED PRICE TAGS (but with an expired receipt - I bought them before our house was ready to be moved into which is now) they can not and will not take them back.
I took it like a champ when they explained the expired receipt to me. Walked away saying thanks. Sat in my car after reloading the chair back into my car & thought, let me go look for more barstools because Iām not using these either way.
Walk directly back to the chair section (back right hand side) and immediately see the SAME BARSTOOLS. I instantly gained hope. Clearly they would take mine back being they are still selling the same barstools.... store credit, right? Iāll take that. Cashier (who also said she was a lower manager) whom I first spoke with was not friendly at all when I asked if this was a possible thing to do. She calls her manager. Manager is friendly, but absolutely will not take back the chairs. Like store credit? I donāt get it. They are unused, each have their price tags hanging from them and I have the receipt (again, expired)....
I do not understand this. I love AT HOME. But it seems absurd to me. I will not be back here again. They lost my business. And that may not seem big but Iām moving in && need a LOT. This was one of my favorite stores.
I just canāt comprehend why store credit canāt be an option WHEN THEY ARE STILL SELLING THE SAME BARSTOOLS in the store.
I guess they arenāt hurting for sales. I only selected āļø āļø because the second manger was friendly (but...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was my first visit to this new store. It was sparsely inventoried but I hope it's just because they haven't been open long. The problem came while checking out. There were only 2 cashiers and several people waiting in a slow moving line. The poor customer in front of me was treated horribly. She had previously bought a buggy full of rugs but was attempting to return them. I heard her explain that all of the rugs had been wrapped in plastic when bought except for the largest which had tape around it. She was bringing them back with receipts because the largest rug had a stain on it. She volunteered that info and said it was like that when purchased ad she had not used the rugs. Well the cashier immediately stopped what she was doing and ended up calling 2 more people to help her. Basically they weren't going to refund her money because of the stain. They said if it had been bought and returned previously it wouldve been checked. I spoke up and said that's what she gets for trying to be honest? That's very poor customer service. Instead of admitting that maybe they'd made a mistake, they basically accused the customer of lying and put her thru the ringer. I think she finally got her money back but the way she was treated was uncalled for. Management needs training and maybe a little...
