It's in a convenient location near Tanger Outlets beside Whichwhich. Inside looks very modern and clean. The menu is more diverse than I expected. I ordered a gyro pita and paid the $2 premium for the Greek fries side.
The straight cut fries were mostly uninspired themselves but the Greek fries had them loaded up with the perfect ratio of feta and other lovely toppings that made it an enjoyable and filling side. I believe they offer this as an entree with added gyro which sounds delightful. The pita follows the same trend with the pita bread itself being room temperature and mostly bland but offering a great palette for the pile of tasty meat, onions, tomatoes, etc perfectly wrapped in its foil cone.
The tzatziki comes along by default but disappointingly in a prepackaged cup. By itself the soybean corn syrup flavored blend has all the familiarity of tzatziki but comes a little too thick and with the hint of flavor altogether not tzatziki. Yet what did you expect from fast food Greek. But again, spread a healthy portion in the pita and the concerns disappear, every mouthful enjoyable, lovely greek gyro pita. The gyro meat was consistent and tasty and not skimped on though it came in small chunks instead of the familiar thin strips.
The drink station is in a terrible location as once you place your order you must fight back through the ordering line you just finished to pour your beverage. Currently there's no waste basket or lid dispenser at the drink station but this may due to growing pains. After a few minute's wait the food was brought out to the table or your name called for to go orders. The seating area felt a little small for a late night crowd by COVID standards. All the staff was professional and courteous and made me feel comfortable.
The price for my gyro ($9.45), Greek fries ($2) and soda would have rung up about $15 after tax but their grand opening special apparently earns you a street pita for $6. After including the Gulfstream discount the cashier added for me my meal was only $10.
Overall it was a very clean and convenient quick stop for a bite of Greek cravings. It won't be a replacement for my go to authentic Greek place but I'm excited to return and try everything else they offer on the...
Read moreTastes good, but seems way too expensive for the amount of food on my "Grilled Chicken Platter". Also missing items. I made an online order with DoorDash. When I called the restaurant to ask for some foil to wrap up my leftover pita in, the girl that answered was very nice! She said she would make sure I had some foil (and a plastic bowl) to put my leftovers in (for travel). I asked if the "Platter" came with some pickled onions or something.(I guess it could be pickled turnips in the picture?), she said yes. I said I love those, and give me those for sure. She said "Okay, she would" She was very friendly and trying to be accommodating. I didn't get those either. I don't know if they're supposed to come with the platter and they were left off, or they're not supposed to come with it but she just didn't tell the kitchen that I asked for them. I needed the foil to wrap up the leftovers because I'm traveling, I'm a flight attendant. I didn't get any foil. --- I have a suggestion, when you have a to-go order get the lettuce in a SEPARATE container! My lettuce was all warm and soggy when I opened my order. I want fresh crunchy lettuce. So maybe I should have asked for the lettuce to be packed separately? I will next time. The platter was 7 chunks of chicken that comes with a pita, lettuce, and your choice of two sides - mine were veggies and hummus... That's "a platter"(see picture). The other things I ordered: *a little plastic container (1.5oz) of Tzatziki sauce, a bag of Stacy's pita chips, and an order of Baba ganoush, which also comes with pita. It's VERY expensive to get this food ordered on DoorDash. I paid at least $36 after taxes, fees, and a $3.00 tip to DoorDash. So much money! I think it would have been more reasonable if the "platter" had been...
Read moreGood food, but one slightly hostile management person (toward his employees) made the environment uncomfortable. I'll go here, again, because I like this type of cuisine, but I'll probably just pick it up and go.
Environment issue: The staff leader was just a bit over-the-top with an apparent power trip, and the front counter is open air, so there was no barrier between patrons and his verbal tirades against the rest of the staff; we got to hear the majority of his rants. I would speculate that his obvious angst toward them was the reason the employees were so withdrawn and uncommunicative - several of them even looked genuinely scared.
Food: Flavor is an A+, Temperature is an A+, and Proportions are an A (for the money). Presentation is lacking, and not because of the fast food resources and utensils (that's expected), but because of the thrown together wraps. It's hard enough to eat a wrap that's assembled with excellence and skill, but these were so slapped together, I didn't finish my first bite before dropping the whole thing in the tray and going to get a fork = C+ for lack of attention. Additionally, there were several pieces of gristle in the shawarma, and although that happens with the food type, I felt this was excessive for the price = B-
Overall, it's one of the better gyro/wrap joints I've been to in that area, but they need to pay attention to some basic customer needs, ASAP. And, someone, please, teach your management how to train discretely in the...
