Passing through on our way home from camp in North Carolina, my family and I stopped at the Tanger Outlets in Pooler, Georgia. Never too early to shop for Back to School clothes.
Among our stops for a snack was Great American Cookies. Busy little place but my daughter wanted a pretzel and some lemonade. So we made the stop.
Place was clean and Dante was our server. We ordered two #3 pretzel combos and a #1. Two lemonades and a bottled water completed our combos.
Bottled water was warm and not refrigerated. Pretzel bites were overcooked. Lemonade was fine and straws could be found in a counter dispenser marked "straws."
Dante - our cashier - was frustrated with a lack of help from co-workers. A picture is worth a 1,000 words. You tell me what Dante's co-workers were doing while he single handily took care of customers. He asked for help several times during our 22 minute visit to Great American Cookies in Pooler, Georgia.
Following our visit to Great American Cookies, I tweeted pictures of the store and staff to corporate. Despite their social media presence, my tweets were ignored. You would think they would have a response to pictures of staff playing on their smartphones.
That's my visit in a nutshell. I review - you decide.

Read moreLove the cookies but HORRIBLE customer service today at the Tanger Pooler Savannah location. There were approximately 10 other people in the store with three employees. After this crowd was gone One girl goes and pretends to count money, one plays with icing , one is making cookies. We stood there for about 4- 5 minutes before one looks up and says oh did you all want something. AS IF we come to glance at cookies for our health. Please work on customer service at this location because your cookies are amazing. Customer service goes a long way. I can say that they all looked like teenagers so maybe this is the issue, but perhaps there should be a responsible adult in the store. I could honestly see if we had a hello or be with you on one moment. I am a frequent visitor of GACC but please consider staffing responsibile adults during your store hours....
Read moreWalked in and one of the employees was working in a tank top and had his pants below his butt with his underwear showing. It may just be a part time job or “fast food”, but it was completely unprofessional. You work for a national business and I’m sure they have a uniform policy. Not to mention the fact that it displays a lack of care for the customer. It gives the impression that hygiene is not important. The shift manager was ok enough to keep him there working but not ok with him taking orders dressed the way he was. My first job was at a fast food chain and I would have been told to go home if I came in like that just to check my shifts for the week. It’s called respect and dignity, which is something that is...
