Earthbound Trading Co. — Local services in Portland

Love the shop and their items as we went on a full-blown shopping spree. But their service, eh, not so much.

There were two employees who were working at the time, the employee that was in the front immediately greeted us and jumped to help us. Whereas when we were ready to check-out, the employee at the check-out seemed very miserable. I say this because the difference was evident. No smiles or interactions, just plain 😐face. From the moment we approached the employee, they looked at us up and down (literally felt like I was in a movie), and proceeded onto saying “I’m here” while making a look that is unforgettable. Didn’t attempt to take our stuff from one end to their end, just proceeded onto giving their focus on STICKERS. You see, as a fellow New Yorker, that would’ve been a problem from the moment we approached the check-out and we’re being looked at as if we’re aliens. Disregarded the behavior because: 1) I’m on vacation, 2) I really wanted to buy the bags, 3) I was not ready to get into an argument with someone who clearly is miserable especially if they have a right to carry guns. As a person of color, you have to be considerate of that no matter where you go.

Earthbound however, you definitely need to look into that. I know you’re LGBTQ+ friendly, believe me, with all of your posters- everyone understands. But so are we, and you can definitely hire someone else who will provide some joy in selling your handmade products which are mostly from INDIA. I was so excited to buy products which is so close to the motherland and you have employees over here making the experience weird. Hence why I gave it a 3 star as it is about the shopping experience.

The products were great, the bags are to die for and the quality of their crystals are amazing. But, the one employee really made this experience weird and less exciting. We probably would’ve purchased more items if it wasn’t for the behavior...

Awesome shop totally tucked into the happening scene in Portland, ME! We went in to look around and found so many great essentials, both for the home and for yoga experiences. From t-shirts to yoga mats, this place had an awesome vibe and was totally more than what we were expecting! Prices are on par with similar shops, but the experienced staff is what sets them apart!

The staff here was super friendly, especially Kara (with a "K"), who not only was knowledgeable about the products, but was very accommodating with providing local information and entertaining our toddler! She helped to round out a great experience for us and to keep us interested in finding out about more great offers from...

This store is so much fun! We were greeted by a very friendly woman named Taylor, who showed me around and answered all my questions. She showed me some really cool things too! They have a large selection of gem stones and jewelry. I found everything I needed and even some things I didn't. :) A young woman named Haley helped me with some Hematite rings.
