Went twice. First time was fine, fairly empty, nothing super exciting. Went again for my girlfriends 21st birthday. It was the last place we stopped and she had her 4th drink there. She wasn't feeling great and I escorted her to the bathroom. We stopped in the corridor because she felt dizzy. The woman behind the bar (who I later found out was the owner) came tearassing after us and interrogated me as to her condition. When I told her she was fine she just needed to get to the bathroom demanded we climb the stairs next to us and leave. I told her we had every intention of leaving but needed a minute to get her together and she stood there and kept insisting that she wanted us GONE. My girlfriend could feel the pressure of this woman staring at her, started to cry, and said she wanted to go. We stood outside for a minute and very nice but embarrassed bouncer came outside because she had ordered him to clear us out if we were standing too close to the entrance and to let us know we would denied reentry. He politely collected my jacket for me and offered that that owner is always like that. So if $5 drinks makes the place seem fun and affordable just know this is not the kind of bar that likes when people actually drink. The fun ends when you figure out which door is the real door. Heard this place is reopening and wanted to share why...
Read moreI went to Lincoln's in 2020 and had a poor experience: rude staff, bad food, terrible drinks. During my annual trip to Portland this weekend, I decided to give it another chance for the novelty. I will never return.
My husband and I (in our 30s) and my father (in his 60s) entered Lincoln's around 5 pm when it was not busy. We were promptly barked by an employee to show our IDs. My father and I presented ours, and my husband - whose ID slipped through the cracks of the boardwalk moments prior when a different bar's employee handed it back to him - asked if he could show a photo of his ID.
The staff member rudely yelled back, "How about I show you a photo of me caring?" and crudely told us to leave.
This behavior was unwarranted. While I understand the legal obligation to verify patron age, given the circumstances, there were countless other ways that this could have been communicated.
If this is how Lincoln's treats customers, I would strongly recommend avoiding this place...
Read moreI would give this place 10 stars for my first trip here but I had recently tried to visit here and had a horrible experience. My first time was awesome great place and drinks tried to come back a second time and was denied by the door man in a very rude fashion told my party of 5 to leave because I was to tall for what my licenses sad. I got my license when I was 16 people do get taller over time. It was going to be a good night but it was ruined could not go to other bars ect... And also could not get on to my flight home the next day and could not rent a car because my licenses was taken away from me. I am a bar owner as well and 100% get being carful when it comes to serving minors but the way it was handled by your bouncer was really bad and embarrassing. I came in to your bar very excited the first time I met a man who sad he was the owner and I even had my shirt on from your bar if that doesn’t say I’ve been here before I don’t...
