I can't say enough wonderful things about Edie's amazing jewelry and her custom designs. I have purchased many things "off the rack" and loved each and every one - they are unique, interesting, beautiful and a pleasure to wear. I have also had Edie do a couple of custom projects for me - I wanted to do something with my grandmother's aquamarine engagement ring to transform it from "engagement ring' into something I could wear everyday. She came up with a great set of stack rings, one of which has the stone from granny's ring. For another project, I presented Edie with a blue topaz pendant that I hadn't worn in 25 years and an emerald and diamond ring that was lovely in 1980 but was so dated in style that I never wore it. She came up with a great set of interchangeable stack rings using the stones from both the ring and the pendant.

What pleases me the most with the custom pieces is that she has breathed new life into things that would otherwise be tucked away in a jewelry case, continuing to gather dust. I just love the transformation of the old things into new things that are modern, stylish and most importantly, wearable.

Before the holidays this year, I visited Folia in Portland to see about designing a new setting for my beautiful diamond. I knew I wanted a wide band with a simple leaf motif, and I was very impressed with my initial visit to Folia. The designs and craftmanship were impressive, so much so that I decided to work with them to design a new ring. Both the staff and especially Edie were incredibly accommodating, taking my thoughts and then producing multiple drawings for consideration. Their expertise, craftsmanship, desire to work closely with clients, and their ability to listen and provide guidance when needed was so appreciated.

As a result, I now have a beautiful diamond ring that I wear all the time and get many compliments on. I appreciated Folia's attention to detail, craftsmanship, overall designs and patience while working with me to design a ring I would love.

I highly recommend Folia for any type of jewelry purchase as well as for their ability to design a piece of jewlery you might be considering. I know that I will return to Folia to have them design a birthstone ring using their creativity and expertise.

The minute I met Edith Armstrong in 2016 and saw her work at Folia I knew I wanted her to create a ring for me with my grandmother/mother's diamond that I had inherited many years ago. I liked the organic designs in her work such as leaves and swirls which reminded me of fiddlehead ferns. Also, I wanted a secure bevel setting for my diamond, so I could wear it all the time and not worry about prongs breaking. I appreciated Edith recommending 18K gold for my ring because the color enhances the stones and is so pretty. I had thought about Maine tourmaline for the little stones, but Edith said they would have been too soft. She suggested I use teal-colored blue diamonds and they are perfect. Then for my anniversary this past Christmas I had Edith create a wedding band to compliment my diamond ring. Again with blue diamonds, she made me the most beautiful ring.
