We’ve been to the Jack London many times for the music.THE MUSIC IS AWESOME!!!! So go for the music not for the food or the service. Our last experience...Upon arriving we were going to order food. The menu had a few items crossed out by what it looked like a 2yr old. After deciding what we wanted to order the server told me that was the old menu..ok well where is the new menu? Hum? Anyway placed our order which proceeded to take 1 1/2 hours to receive. After 1 hour upon checking on what the heck was going on we were told they were out of chicken for my salad. Ok well we ordered chicken wings at that point. 20 minutes later she told us they made the salad if it was ok to have crispy chicken . I said Fine... the salad arrived about 15 min later with chicken strips. She also brought our chicken tacos at the same time (1 1/2 hours after ordering). I asked for a condiment & that took another 20 min. In the middle of all this we ordered a beer...She came back & said they were out. Ordered another beer, out of that too. (I’m betond frustrated at this point). Never touched the food. Went to the restroom & they were out of soap. There was a yellow mustard container with soap written in it that...
Read moreIt is an amazing place if you want to listen to live music. We got to listen to Mel Brown's B3 Organ group. Mr. Brown is a legend, not just in Portland, but across the globe. He has played with Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross and other greats. He has a coolness as he plays the drums. He was joined by saxophonist Renato Caranto, organist King Louie Pain and Dan Balmer, who is a Jazz guitarist. It was so amazing. At times, Renato would mesmerize you with the music coming out of his saxophone, and at other times it was Dan just jamming with his guitar. You have Louis and Mel just playing non-stop for the love of music.
Mel Brown's wife Shirley was seated in the table beside us, and she was so kind. She was enjoying the music. She said that Mr. Brown's birthday was in July and invited us to attend. Unfortunately, we were just visiting.
The sound is amazing at the Jack London Revue. Please book your tickets early if you want a good seat. Upstairs, there is a nice pool table and bar. The lady who was mixing drinks told us about the show. She treated the place like her home. She kept everything so clean, and treated everyone well. If you like live music you will love...
Read moreMy husband and I had such a great experience here! We had a reserved table for two and I would definitely recommend this. It's what we'll do when we come again. The tables are close together but there is room to get out for drinks and bathrooms without physically crawling over 6 people which I do appreciate.
We got there about half an hour after the doors opened and still had plenty of spots to choose from. This was just post snowpocalypse however so this might not be the case in the future.
The vibe was definitely chill and great and everyone could groove to the music at their table or in the open space to the left of the stage.
The bathrooms were actually very clean and nice which was great!
We didn't have the food, but the drinks were good - well drinks are definitely the more economical option but we liked everything we had.
The post show burlesque show was also an added bonus that made it all the more fun!
I definitely want to make this venue a regular...
