A whimsical toy store to delight children of all ages! We stopped into this incredible store when looking for unique gift items for our nephews while on a day trip in Portland. I could not believe the sheer amount of toys, books, crafts, games, and more that were under their roof. From the floor to the ceiling are shelves and displays, topped off with classic and modern toys hanging from the ceiling. It's a visual delight, and I enjoyed just looking at everything while inside. Their collection of stuffed plushies and hand puppets are the best I've seen in a toy store and even had animals you wouldn't find anywhere else, such as a three-toed sloth or axolotl. Toys are groups from infant to elementary age, sections for board and card games, scientific sets, and books for older children. Pretty much anything you could think of, and they had it. I highly recommend checking out Treehouse Toys to find a perfect gift, the ideal toy for a child who has it all, or to find something for your own kid...
Read moreI have been shopping at treehouse before I had children of my own, since I was a child myself. Nearly 3 decades, countless toys and gadgets etc. all around love this store. My children and I stop there every time we take a walk through the old port, which is very frequently. HOWEVER, I will never spend another dollar in that establishment. Today, like many other days my 8 year old son was riding his scooter while his sister and I walked. We went into treehouse. Like many other times he was not on his scooter, he had it between his legs walking it through the store. We were there 10 minutes or so and Karen behind the counter said in the most condescending tone donât ride the scooter in here park it over there. Tone is everything and specially when youâre working in a childrenâs store thereâs a much better way to ask an 8 year old to set his scooter somewhere safely in the store. I have spent thousands of dollars on this store and will not spent...
Read moreWhile the toy selection here is good (Bruder, Plan Toys, Brio, Playmobil, etc.) the icy attitude of the workers here make the toy store and âmust not goâ place. The associates are generally unfriendly and seem rather annoyed that there are children around. The first time I went, my son had just turned two and we were working on our mask wearing skills. We were told quite rudely âexcuse me, If he is two and canât wear a mask you need to leave.â I was very put offâ Iâm by no means an âanti-maskerâ but wearing one for a fresh two year old is a skill to work on. I went in there again a year or so later, and again was received by a general tone of distaste. No warm welcome, no how is your dayâ just an icy glare every time my kid would move a muscle. Iâm just not going back and will not support a local business that doesnât do any sort of job for welcoming...
