In a random twist of events, we found ourselves looking for a bite to eat on our way to our hotel in South Portland. We decided to look in the less crowded area of town and happened upon Bread and Olive. The dishes were mostly tapas sized. All of the ingredients seemed fresh and homemade. We had the bread and olives for an appetizer, the Mediterranean Flatbread and the grilled cheese... all of which were delicious. The homemade sourdough was absolutely delectable. The best part about the dishes being smaller is that we had room for dessert, which was a bundt cake. Lastly, the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend Bread...

It's incredible to be able to say that every aspect of our meal, the colossal shrimp that was grilled with perfect textures and flavor, to the brilliant creme brulee and wonderful port, is worth the visit and a return!
Portion sizes are perfect for small plated meals, absolutely no waste.
