We live in the neighborhood — less than a ten-minute walk — and we want to love this bar. It has a great speakeasy vibe, the drinks are solid, and while the food is a bit overpriced for what it is, the menu is decent overall. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming. But the service has been consistently disappointing. As a former server myself, I understand the job isn’t always easy — but our last two visits, including one just this past Friday night (July 11th around 9 PM), have left us genuinely frustrated. We came in with a group of six, planning to stay for a few rounds and enjoy our night. At the start of the visit, one of our friends asked our server what kinds of whisky they had. Instead of offering any suggestions or checking, she told him to go look at the bar himself. That’s not how hospitality should work. Later, we ordered a second round of drinks. The bar wasn’t busy, but the drinks never came. After about 25 minutes, we saw our server and asked about them — she told us they’d be right up. At that point, we just canceled the order and asked for the check. To top it off, a 20% gratuity was automatically added because of our party size. Normally I fully support that and probably leave more — good service should be tipped well. But in this case, the service didn’t merit it, and we felt stuck. This bar is so close to home, and we’d love to be regulars. But repeated service issues have made it hard to justify coming back.

All brick walls in the basement and what appears to be an old hotel. With the charm of a old speakeasy, the sling delicious cocktails. Food was on the smaller portion side, but tasty. Burgers come with a salad but you can upgrade to a couple different options of fries for a modest price of $2-4. But you only get a couple fries that was my only complaint w the food. I also have to agree that the service was lackluster and a little disappointing. The person that served us was unfriendly, curt, and almost rude. The bar wasn't busy and yet it took a very long time to get our drinks. This was mostly disappointing because I saw her just standing around. Might give it another try

Loved the music. Love the candles. Love the fries and mozzarella sticks. Love the drinks. Did not love the server being on his own in a busy environment so much so that he dropped the food off but in the process spilled sauce all over both of us. Aaaaand didn’t apologize. Didn’t bring us napkins or silverware until we asked. And never checked on us, but eventually new guy came over to see how were doing. Shoutout to that guy that asked if everything was “wonderful, delicious, and amazing”. Your positivity was a saving grace.

Terrible service! So a group of my coworkers and I decided to meet at Bramhall for after work drinks. There just seemed to be issue after issue with the staff. Mainly them having issues with us, and we weren’t doing anything wrong. But the thing that really upset us was how rude and arrogant our server was.

The biggest issue we had was when someone at our table was trying to clear some plates from our full table (because our server didn’t come to check and ask to clear any of our plates) and put some on the bench seat behind where someone had been sitting but had been gone for over 30 min. As soon as our party brought it to the servers attention that they had piled some of the dirty dishes, the server went on the defense and scolded us for doing that, repeatedly. Not at all how a server should have handled that. Like saying “hey, thank for compiling all the dirty dishes, but next time just keep it at your table and I’ll come get it”. No, instead she said “DO NOT leave dirty dishes on someone else’s table again!” and said it multiple times.

Then the server went to back to the bar where a person in our party overheard the server badmouthing our table to others. The server then proceeded to ignore our table for sometime. And when she did come back outside she brought the guy who had vacated his table for a while a shot and said very loudly for our whole table to hear, “here is a shot to compensate for SOMEONE leaving dirty dishes at your table.” We were all in shock and highly upset that the server had the audacity to be so passive aggressive.

We then proceeded to chat with the guy who got the free shot and he said he had no idea about the dirty dishes and didn’t care in the slightest. But he joked “thanks for the free shot”.

When we decided to go to the bar to get our check because we were fed up and wanted to leave, the server said we could stay and order more drinks, that they weren’t trying to get us to leave. HELL NO! There’s no way we’d spend more money in your establishment after being treated like that. How dare you want more money out of us after treating us that way. I will NEVER step foot in...

I have never written a bad review for an establishment before and it truly gives me no pleasure to do so. I arrived at Bramball on a Saturday night around 10:40PM after a concert at Thompson’s Point. My partner and I were both hungry and looking forward to having a late dinner. We were sat and our waitress came where we immediately ordered one burger, one order of chicken wings and two cocktails- knowing that that the kitchen closed in about an hour we were thoughtful in getting our orders in on time. We waited for 40 minutes for our drinks to arrive, and after 45 minutes our waitress told us that they were out of chicken wings and the kitchen was closing so there was nothing else they could do about it. After waiting for almost an hour with late watered down drinks and no food, my partner and I asked for the check and left. Am I spending my time to write a review over chicken wings never received? No- I have better things to do with my time. I am writing this review because after almost an hour of waiting we had no food and learned that 50% of our order could not be fulfilled. If you are looking for food in Portland, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY and avoid this place. I am not sure what the issue was, but if the owner cannot afford the $20
