••• Our company rented the Carleton Street location to host our annual company holiday party after I had been to their Danforth location when working with a local tourism company. I originally inquired about the location I had seen and this space was recommended to me instead. I was hesitant, as I loved the Danforth house so much but now, to be honest, it was so wonderful that I truly hesitate to recommend it because it feels like a hidden gem that I want to keep to myself. :) ••• The property manager was highly responsive and answered questions very timely and despite several emails, she never made me feel like I was being annoying...haha. ••• The space made me feel like we were having a holiday party in someone's well-decorated, high-end, gorgeous home. It had minimal Christmas decor, so I did bring some more but we actually appreciated that the decor wasn't so over the top that it would prevent flexibility of use of the space. Instead, it had just a tree and mantle decor but already had a "warm" vibe due to the decor. (Also, great for those who don't celebrate Christmas as it's not in your face at all.) It was perfect. ••• The entire space was very clean on arrival. We had full use of the kitchen (Just to give an FYI: As far as I can tell, this is only with the venue rental option, not if renting a room for the night) which made heating up catering items a breeze and there was plenty of room for our 27 guests to play board games and sit and mingle comfortably without being in an overly large space.(Nothing worse than a party that feels lame b/c the space is too large for number of guests.) ••• We didn't stay in the rooms, as most of us live nearby, but if they are as gorgeous as the rest of the home, it would have been a dream to. ••• I personally host a lot of events and am now just dreaming of all of those that I could have at this particular venue. I couldn't recommend them more!!!

I absolutely loved my stay at this beautiful inn during my trip to Portland. My room was charming and immaculate and the team at the hotel took such great care of us. The inn had a nice mix of new and old decor, but maintained the cozy atmosphere you would expect in an New England B&B. Jim was very warm and inviting and provided great recommendations for restaurants and places to go in the area. I was also enamored of the idyllic location of the inn near the Western Prom and nestled on a quiet street. Each morning I had so much fun going for my morning walk and admiring all of the beautiful homes in the neighborhood. I would definitely stay at the Inn on Carleton again and have already told all of my friends and family about this lovely B&B. Thank you Jim,Martha, and Chiho for a wonderful weekend in Maine!

It’s okay! Self service hotel without staff onsite - decent walk to downtown and construction all around location. For the price we paid I would have probably stayed closer to downtown if I did it again. Pack light if you stay on the 3rd floor - you are going to carry your bags up 3 flights - minimal tight parking

Such a great, effortless experience in my favorite/former home neighborhood in Portland -- I don't often write reviews but Blind Tiger deserves one. Very affordable for the off-season. "Seamless check-in" really was -- we coordinated our arrival time via text with Tammara, the on-site innkeeper, and got an email with all the door codes & instructions needed to go straight up to our room. I never saw Tammara but she was incredibly helpful! We parked in the small lot next to the building and stayed in the Nocino room. Super comfy bed, nice bathroom, lovely decor, well placed outlets and lighting, plus a nice map and thoughtful local recs. You hear some noise from the hall as other guests go by, but that's normal in a B&B and didn't really bother us. I think other rooms are even more private. It's a gorgeous old brownstone, classic West End. The free pantry on the first floor was a well appointed godsend for snacks/drinks. And loaner umbrellas! We didn't eat breakfast but it looked lovely, and the common spaces were roomy and beautiful. Both of the Portland Blind Tiger locations are highly walkable to all the best places, like within a few blocks -- we stuck to nearby faves like Chaval, Hot Suppa, Bramhall, Ugly Duckling (also would have done Ruski's, Tandem, Boda, Bao Bao, Zephyr and LFK if we had time!) and of course Weekend Vintage. We will absolutely be back. Thank you for making our weekend so easy and...

My stay at the Inn on Carlton ended up being even better than I thought it would be. My fiance and I booked a room last minute for our trip to Portland. This bed and breakfast is located on the West End of Portland and is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. It's a short walk from many good coffee places and restaurants. It's about a 25 minute walk to Downtown Portland and 45 minutes to the East end. Our innkeeper greeted us the moment we arrived and was a fantastic host. Breakfast involved a curated menu each morning and was delicious. I was a little nervous with parking at first because of the two hour parking signs. There are four parking spots on site and a big lot across the street that doesn't get checked very often by traffic police. The room was very cozy and comfortable. I don't think we could have found a better place to stay...
