TLDR: Apartment and building is well-maintained. Pictures are accurate depiction of finishes, quality, style, etc. Change in management has made a notable difference in communication with the office. Maintenance requests are handled very quickly. Professional staff. Construction is unbearable at times but on a one-way street, there's not much you can do. Thankfully it'll be a non-issue soon but to that point, double-paned windows would have been great. From higher floors in the building, you can hear street-level conversations, car doors opening and closing, construction workers' conversations, etc.
The hallways, trash rooms, common areas, lobby, etc are all very well-maintained (pre and post management change). The package room is attended to daily and is typically organized. Never had an issue with missing packages. Residents are respectful and quiet. You can really only hear conversations happening in the hallway and I've never overheard any of my neighbors' conversations through the walls. You can hear heavy bass from loud music but never had an issue with it going on too long/outside of quiet hours.
Floors and ceilings could use more insulation, you can hear heavy footsteps walking about but that comes with the territory. Backsplashes are a missing feature in the kitchen, painted walls behind a stove are a disaster for folks that cook. Washer/dryer are a bit outdated but it gets the job done. Water pressure in the shower isn't the highest but definitely not low. Kitchen sink pressure is the opposite, can be overpowering at times. No ice maker or water dispenser but fridge and freezer are roomy.
All in all, I'd give it a solid 4.5 all things considered. Proximity to NYC is fantastic, surrounding businesses are all wonderful, short walk to the train station, and a ton of options for...
Read moreI’ve lived here for a while now, and overall it’s an okay place, but there are definitely some things to keep in mind before moving in.
Pros: The building itself is really well maintained. Common areas are always clean and cared for. Maintenance is responsive and does a great job whenever something comes up. The amenities are a highlight—the rooftop is beautiful and the gym is well-equipped. Location is excellent. You’re close to the train that takes you straight into NYC, as well as the airport, which makes commuting and traveling really convenient. There are plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance, so there’s no shortage of places to eat or go out.
Cons: Do not rent a unit near the gym. The noise carries, and you’ll hear/feel it often, which can be frustrating if you value peace and quiet. People drop the weights and your floors and walls will vibrate at all hours of the day regardless of gym hours The rooftop is nice, but on some nights it feels more like a nightclub than a shared amenity. It gets crowded and loud, people throw large parties and residents often end up being pushed out, which makes it less enjoyable. Walking around the area late at night doesn’t always feel safe, so that’s something to be aware of. Unfortunately the area has been getting progressively worse. The shared water bill. If you live in a studio you will pay the same water bill as multiple people living in a 2...
Read moreI’ve been living here for the past five years. Overall, the building, amenities, and maintenance have been great. Unfortunately, for the last three years, we’ve been dealing with an ongoing noise issue from the upstairs neighbor. They frequently stomp, exercise at all hours, and play loud music—especially late at night—which has seriously affected our sleep and peace of mind.
We’ve reported the issue to management multiple times. Each time, the noise stops briefly, only to return—often worse than before. While management has offered to transfer us to another unit, it would come with a fee. They also offered to release us from the lease without a lease-break fee, but we’d still be responsible for rent until the unit is re-leased, which could take an unknown amount of time.
We were told twice that a “notice to quit” would be sent to the upstairs neighbor, but it was never actually delivered. At this point, it feels like the tenant may have a personal relationship with management, as we’ve seen little follow-through or accountability.
We also reached out to corporate, but unfortunately have not received any meaningful resolution or support. It’s disappointing that after being good tenants for five years, we’ve had to live with this unresolved issue for so long.
I’ll update this review if the situation is resolved or if there’s any meaningful...
