I chose to give this property a chance when I moved here 12 weeks ago, and I already cannot see myself resigning a lease here. I moved here from a complex in downtown Raleigh and I will not only be moving out upon my lease end, but strongly discourage anyone from signing a lease here.
I will start with the worst part of living here: parking. Vine has done major construction in the parking garage which is counterproductive and has made it extremely inconvenient for residents to maneuver through. They outsourced this work to construction workers & their team left my freshly washed car dusty and dirty from the construction, along with many other vehicles that were impacted. Now, if I want to go anywhere, I have to account for an extra 10 minutes just to get up and down the parking deck since I can’t park anywhere else but my floor. This construction has also added to the unsafe driving in this deck, as I have to watch out for people & cars as I blindly turn every corner. This change has genuinely made me not want to leave my apartment unless it's for good reason, because I cannot bear to maneuver through it.
Guests coming to visit find it extremely inconvenient to have to drive up 8 floors, and now with Vine's new policy, they will soon have to pay to park if they visit more than my allotted 7 monthly guest passes. I would never pay to park in this parking deck and Vine is now planning on charging all residents $50 a month per car to park for those who re-sign, which used to be the price of a reserved spot. Surprise: reserved spots are gone now, so we’re paying more to receive less & competing with FREE retail parking.
The complex recently decided to host a “town hall” due to all of their residents’ dissatisfaction with the parking, but the result was hardly any changes and ZERO reduction in the surprise charges. I would rather spend that money moving to a different complex entirely than to pay to park in this garage when retail guests park for free. This complex cares more about making money than they do about valuing their residents’ ease of coming and going.
As for other grievances, I’ve had maintenance come into my unit nearly a dozen times since I’ve moved in during mid June. There’s been mold coming from the vent fan in my bathroom 2x since I moved in. The lock on my door had to be replaced upon move in. The leasing office didn’t have a copy of my mailbox key ready until over a week after I’d moved in, and worst of all, the tank pumping coolant to my AC unit for my apartment had a leak in it and therefore my AC became completely broken— all after only a few weeks of me living there. The temp in my apartment rose up to nearly 80° since it was over 90° outside. Maintenance came in to fix it and told me the problem was solved, but it wasn’t. I had to request at least 3 emergency visits from maintenance during this time and had to go a whole weekend with a mobile window AC unit in my room ( + the first one they gave me was faulty & I had to ask for a second one) while waiting for them to fix my actual AC tank. My energy bill skyrocketed from keeping all of the fans on in every room of my apt in the meantime to avoid major discomfort.
I’ve also never been to an apartment event that’s happened at this complex. The only ones I’ve seen posted on social media looked low effort and yet we pay fees every month to go towards things of that nature. The elevators are down far too often, and the package rooms are extremely disorganized, with Bluetooth access to the Luxer rooms being offline frequently & packages of mine getting misplaced more than once. I can't plan on sleeping in if I take PTO b/c they have staff with leaf blowers outside of the pool and shared space where half of the apts face every morning without fail at 9am. Dt Raleigh would've been quieter.
Overall, the property itself appears to be nice, but even after living here for a short amount of time, all of these things have made it inconvenient to live here and have taken away from the quality of life that I should have for the amount of...
Read moreUnfortunately Vine Apartments doesn’t care for their customers when it comes to their nonsense idiotic parking rules.( maybe was just Bryan/Ryan unkind way). My BMW vehicle was totaled and they gave me a 1.5 month stupid temp permit for my rental (funny to say first I had a tesla then got a new BMW and new plate, never told them and I was never towed.) Coming out of the hospital for a procedure on Thursday night I notice my vehicle on my permitted parking level was gone ( notice my level is always empty , not like level 2-3 that they share for other yoga plus businesses so maybe that will be more understandable staying the fact that I’m probably inconvenient for many but not the case here) . I’m way above with tons of parking spaces. Their singular permit that they choose to write was till Nov 4. Well Nov 6 back from the hospital my car was gone. Calling the cops etc to find out it was at unlimited recovery impound at a scary dark dog ‼️ place way south in Saunders and the dispatcher telling me my car is been towed for 3 hours and it will be $310 and if I pick the car pass 12 am, next day it will be $410 and goes up by hrs. At the towing place I noticed the dispatcher getting calls from towing truck drivers at many other rental places to get her ok and in 3 calls she said ( do not town this is only by rental office authority) not the truck drivers. NOW that is caring , that is customer service they warn and care for you, WHAT IS THE DAMN CRIME here? to go at 11:45 pm and pay cash only ( Yeap they will not take cards that late). And have the rental representative caring zero and have the audacity to tell me to show my medical bills to Unlimited Recovery because they have nothing to do with it!!! I repeat is not how other places work. The Vine call you text and email the heck out of you if they need a review but they will never warn you of up coming towing because there is tons of available parking space in your level , and you are in their contract but you are nobody, worst even care ask your healthcare. Now you decide. I totally dislike to complain but this is purely ridiculous and a rip-off as we all know how the towing business works...
Read moreI lived here for a standard 13 month lease, shortly after Vine was finished being built. The entirety of living there was awful, for several reasons.
Overall, I couldn’t leave Vine fast enough. I left after my lease ended, and so did every neighbor I had...
