It could have been my fault because I didn't articulate what I wanted all that well but I would think that they could at least give me a good haircut even if it wasn't exactly what I wanted. But every line was crooked, I had stray long hairs poking out all over, the line underneath my beard was behind my jawbone on one side and halfway up on my other side. (I'm not exaggerating) honestly it was the worst haircut I have ever had. It was so bad that I wondered if they did it just because they didn't want to see me again. Like they messed it up on purpose just so I wouldn't come back. On top of that it was like a billion dollars. Seriously so expensive.
There was one other small, very small, issue. I heard all of these stories about how they get you something to drink while you wait, I sat there, just me, the two barbers, and the two guys in the chairs, for about 20 minutes without anyone offering anything. I didn't have any issue with this because..... That is how a barbershop should be? But then when it was my turn the guy brings me up, sits me down and asks if I want something to drink. What? When would I drink that while you cut my hair? I like to drink but not when it is full of hair. The only reason I bring this up is because it highlights how weird...

If the old-timey interior, impressive selection of hair/shave products, and classy window signage wasn't enough to get you in and keep you there, the friendliness, professionalism, and outstanding dedication each barber here shows for not just maintaining but continually improving their craft will definitely do the trick!
Vinnie is my go-to for sure, but every one of the guys has their own distinct charm and brings something a little different to the table -- not only that, but they're all experts in what they do, so you really can't go wrong here.
With haircuts, you get what you pay for, and if you're a perfectionist like me with a love for perfect fades and sharp-as-hell beard trims each and every time, you'd be doing yourself a HUGE favor by giving the guys at Derby a try!

Read moreBooked a fade cut, got a zero fade cut. The cut took 25 min and when I got home I could see how sloppy it was. I have had my hair cut here twice by the same barber so it is possible that maybe some of the other stylists do a better job. I have to go back and clean up everything that was missed myself. Considering they charge a premium for a zero fade fade you would think bare minimum they would have a little attention to detail. The booking app / website is a waste of time. All the most popular barbers either only work a few days a week or don’t accept bookings. I should have realized after wasting time on that -Derby isn’t worth it. Shame on me for going back. I can get the same cut at Supercuts for 30ish without the hassle. If you’re needing a sharp fade there are many other qualified barbers nearby for less $$. After my last cut I won’t be back.
