I went to this store yesterday after leaving the local colors festival. My partner and I were drawn to the vibe of the store. We really enjoy handmade jewelry, incense, stones, minerals, etc. We walked around for a few minutes and I found a stone I was going to buy, so I carried it around in my hand waiting for my partner to finish looking at all the items to see if she wanted to buy anything also. My partner called out to me from across the store and was very excited they had a dragonfly ring for sale that looked a lot like one she had. Right after that the owners of the store started accusing my partner of stealing a ring. They even said they had video footage of it. My partner was in complete shock that she was being accused of stealing. The vibe quickly went from one of joy and peace to one of sinister accusations and loathing coming from the owners. So my partner demanded to see the video footage they claimed to have. What did the video footage show? My partner picking up their ring to look at it and literally put it back in it's holder. At this point I was so disgusted that the owners of the store accused her of stealing that I decided to put the stone back that I was originally going to buy. When the owner saw me put the stone back he accused me of only putting it back because they had caught my partner steal a ring and knew I was busted and had to put the stone back because I was going to steal it. The owners of the store originally didn't want us to leave and we felt pressured to stsy. So at this point I called the police and asked them to come handle this situation because I was furious we were being accused of stealing. My partner sat outside sitting on the stoop crying because she had been falsely accused of stealing a ring. The store owner finally came out and apologized and said he made a mistake and now understands we didn't steal anything. I try to be a peaceful person in my life and not hold grudges. But I will never give this place my business. I will tell everyone I know about this experience. Upsetting my partner and accusing her of stealing and then making her cry is a line you just don't cross. If you enjoy haggling for prices and being accused of theft. This is the store for you. Otherwise...
Read moreWe were out celebrating my sisters birthday and figured we would check out a few shops in the area. We walked in and spent not even 10 minutes looking around before the woman at the counter accused my sister of stealing. She pointed out the cameras and said she could pull up proof of it, we welcomed it and insisted we hadn’t taken anything. She only further insisted that we had taken a ring and proceeded to accuse me instead. She never actually took the time to look at the cameras, as if it wouldn’t have made a difference to change her mind anyway. Not only was that a defining moment, but my partner who had been open-carrying mentioned to me that the same woman was staring at him with a judgemental look. We’re not sure if that was because he was carrying or if it was because he was the only black man in the store; either way, none of us felt welcome. It’s unfortunate we had such a bad experience as we were interested in some of their jewelry, but after the way we were treated, we left without buying anything. I’m all for supporting local businesses, but if the staff here treats every customer with such disrespect and accuses everyone of stealing, I don’t foresee their business thriving. It’s really disappointing to have had this one terribly rude lady ruin my sisters birthday, especially since this is the first birthday shes celebrated...
Read moreI’m new to Roanoke and was extremely happy to find this store during my walk.. but I’m sad to say that I will never return. The woman that “assisted” me was not at all interested in genuinely helping, instead she was just trying to haggle me out of money. I’ve been to countless metaphysical stores, gift/jewelry shoppes that sell AUTHENTIC and hand crafted jewelry and they were no where close to the price she was trying to sell her bracelets for.
The chakra bracelet I ended up purchasing that she claimed was from Nepal and was soooo authentic, DID NOT even have the chakra stones IN THE CORRECT ORDER and upon further examination, it was very cheaply made. I ended up throwing the bracelet away minutes after leaving the store. I wish I inspected it more instead of falling into the trap of being rushed to purchase. What a waste of money. I would rather drive 3 hours to go to an authentic, handmade jewelry store than to ever step foot in there again. I’m so disappointed..
Focus on genuinely helping customers instead of thinking about how quickly you can take...
