As a long-term resident of this community, I've visited this Best Buy location frequently over the past several years and unfortunately the experience has been consistently subpar. The building itself is a relic from the past, and it's evident that the store is struggling to keep up with the times in terms of its appearance.
While the customer service does manage to meet a basic standard, it's not enough to overlook the glaring issues. One of the most frustrating aspects is the inconsistency in waiting times. On occasions, I've been fortunate to breeze through the process, but there have been instances where I've wasted up to 10 minutes waiting for assistance or to complete my purchase.
Credit should be given for the recent attempt at updating the checkout area. However, it's like applying a fresh coat of paint to a sinking ship. The overall ambiance of the store remains trapped in a bygone era.
But let's address the elephant in the room – the pricing strategy. It's impossible to ignore the fact that the products here are astonishingly overpriced. In many cases, the tags reflect a markup of 3 to 4 times what you'd find at competitors like Target, Walmart, or Amazon. This isn't an isolated incident; it's a recurring theme across a wide array of product categories. Paying such a premium feels unjustified, especially when better deals are readily available elsewhere.
I must admit, I've developed a survival tactic when dealing with this store's pricing. It has become a showroom for me – a place to physically experience products before ultimately making my purchase elsewhere. This little maneuver has saved me a substantial sum of money over time.
With the rapid transformation of retail and the convenience of online shopping, I wouldn't be surprised if this location faces closure in the near future. The dated appearance and exorbitant prices could be its downfall.
In conclusion, my interactions with this Best Buy have left me underwhelmed. The outdated establishment, inconsistent service times, and sky-high prices make it hard to endorse this store to anyone seeking value for their hard-earned money. Unless serious changes are implemented, I can't help but foresee a downward trajectory...
Read moreI understand making sales are an important part of business. Employees to be trained on your policies & thoroughly understand that extending the truth in any circumstance of a sale and its protections or 'guarantees' do not necessarily mean making the sale is off the table. But answering a question that I asked several, several times regarding the TV, if it goes on sale even further, & what the policy was with 'Price Match Guarantee' was flat out inaccurate info and a huge turn off and actually upsetting... this was a fun purchase, why lie? If the answer is 'they didn't know', well, that's your responsibility, not mine in terms of knowing your company's procedures.
Here's the truth on Price Match Guarantee despite what a sales person tells you: It is a 100% no go unless that item was not on sale at all in anyway. The item cannot be bundled with anything. The item cannot have a 'free delivery' attached or anything at all in the slightest.
I asked this question countless times. I've wasted my time on the phone 2x now with the price of the 77in LG C4 dropping drastically. The first time I was told it wasn't delivered yet so I would have to wait till it arrived... ok, sure (would have liked that info as well - I did already pay for it... so, ya know, you had my end of the deal). It dropped $300 again but at this point I'm told no, not in anyway can I get a price match because of x,y & z... not one reason, but 3 reasons. "If this drops in price you guys will match it?" "100%" No, that was false in 3 ways. I bought 3.5k in products that day. Everything was with the same person. If the answer was 'No' at the time, I likely would have been fine with it, but I would not have wasted my own free time trying to exercise something I was told I had. Which is a similar problem I had when my delivery got cancelled and I had to tell all the managers I'd lined up that day for coverage of me being gone... that it was in vein and I'd have to do that again... so, not just...
Read moreHad an extremely unpleasant experience at this location. Purchased a TV online for in-store pick-up and was told it would be ready in an hour. Arrived to the store a little after an hour and proceeded to wait an ADDITIONAL hour before it was ready. I understand that they were likely busier than normal due to the holiday sale but it turns out the reason it took so long was because they didn’t even have it entered correctly in the system so it was basically just sitting in warehouse “limbo.” After we inquired a few times they finally realized the error. When they did finally bring the TV out to our car, we realized it wouldn’t fit in the back (which, to be fair, is on us), so we had to unbox it before loading. The employee said fine, but they weren’t liable for any damage if it was removed from the box, etc etc. After we got the TV loaded in, we were able to grab most of the packing material, minus like one piece of styrofoam and the box itself, which didn’t fit. So we flattened the box and left it and the styrofoam by the trash, and discarded whatever else we could in the actual receptacle. The end, right? Nope. Got a call from a Tyler who claimed he was going to call the cops on us for “illegal dumping.” Thought it was just showboating but he did in fact call the cops who, by the way, thought the whole thing was very ridiculous but they have protocols. So we ended up going back and collecting our illegal materials, because apparently not one of their 50 employees could either a) take a piece of cardboard to the dumpster, or b) say to us “hey, you can’t leave this by the trash” (and we would’ve been happy to take it to the dumpster ourselves or come back for it later, we literally couldn’t fit it in the car and genuinely thought putting trash by the trash was a fairly innocuous act). Not to be all Karen but sheesh, the cops…really? Still amazed that Best Buy exists now that CDs are obsolete but will definitely not return to...
