I usually have a great time at The Original Pancake House, but this visit was the worst one. I usually frequent the Maple Grove location because they have their stuff down, but decided the Roseville location was the best one since it was the half way point for my friend and I.
The previous customer who had my booth had lost his wallet and came looking for it. I was asked to get up by the staff so they could search for the wallet, which I didn’t mind. They ended up not finding anything. That same previous customer came back again asking the staff to search the booth and they did- asking me get up from the booth for the second time. I didn’t want to be rude so I complied. And believe or not, it happened for the THIRD time.
Same customer came back asking for the booth to be searched - I’m assuming more thoroughly because when I was asked to get up from the booth that third time, they asked me to grab my belongings and was placed temporarily at another table during the search. That temporary table was given to customers within a minute or two and I was left standing in the middle an extremely busy dining room, embarrassed and speechless.
I wanted to make a scene and walk out for how unprofessional they were, but this breakfast date was important. I also didn’t want my embarrassment and anger to get the best of me, and didn’t want to inconvenience my friend who was parking and about to enter. The staff or whoever was in charge of the floor should’ve just placed me at a new table instead of having me get up that many times and then having me stand in the middle of the dining room like an idiot.
The staff at the Roseville location needs better training for one off situations like this. They were flustered by the many returns of that same customer and forgot about the service they should’ve provided for me.
I’ll stick to my beloved Maple Grove location and never go back to the Roseville one. All that embarrassment for nothing too. Why? Because the customer ended up having his wallet on...
Read moreThis is located on the upper level of the Pavillion plaza across from Rosedale Mall. Parking and entrance is at the upper level of parking lot. We went on a Sunday at 10:30 for party of 6. Wait was surprisingly only 25 minutes. I'd recommend doing the waitlist app instead of waiting though. The front desk was accurate on the wait times at least. Overall service is friendly. Looked like they had enough services for the number of tables. The place us fairly decent in size and nice open feel with large windows along the one side. Or else there is a large bar area near entrance which it looks like you could sit and eat was well. Also seem to be a smaller side room off the entrance, which I suspect could probably be used for larger parties, etc.
Overall the good was good. Of course come here for the different types of pancakes. Should have tried their Apple pancake, but everyone chickened out. Instead had a variety of meals. The hashbrowns are good as well as the potato pancakes that come with the Benedicts. Be aware when ordering any modifications generally carry a large upcharge. Making the kids meal have chocolate chip pancakes added 2.75 onto a meal that was originally around 9. Adding bacon as a side for Swedish pancakes was like 7+ for three strips of bacon. Was the bacon good, yes it was decent thick cut bacon cooked perfectly, so in the end I didn't mind, but I could see where others might. Overall was a bit pricey in the end, but everything was well done and tasted good, and the service was good, so...
Read moreWe love pancake and we are regular customers. Today was the worse experience we’ve had at this location, I love their Cobb salad here, it’s one of the few places that I say have the best Cobb salad. I always order a Cobb salad when I come here and forgot to mention the kind of dressing I would like with my salad order. When The server, Jessie H came back I requested French dressing as I forgot to ask her earlier. she did not seem happy and She responded “we don’t have French dressing” I replied “I’ve always ordered French dressing every time I come” she responded “well we have never had it” and I replied “I’ve always had it here, can you go check at least?” She went to supposedly check, came back and said “yeah we don’t have it, we’ve never had it.” I wanted to talk to a manager as I know that’s just a lie she made, and wanted to bring notice to this terrible service since I’ve had it every time I go here. She must have either been lazy and didn’t want to go and get the French dressing or just a bad server in total. I didn’t want to make a scene so i asked for a box took the untouched salad home. And to confirm that she did outright make it up, if you try to order online there’s “French” dressing as a salad selection. I hope Jessie H learns to approach her customers better and that being in the service industry this is no way to treat a...
