This review is for a very negative experience with the Wedding Day Diamonds (WDD) store in Roseville, MN.
Short review: This store treats customers poorly and has extremely low quality control. They had to remake my fiancĂ©eâs engagement ring three times and I had to go to a different location to get a ring that was the quality I expected. My proposal was delayed by a month. WARNING: they may try to give you a ring that does not match what you ordered. I would NOT recommend the Roseville store to anyone.
Long review: I went with my fiancée to look at rings in early October. That was a positive experience, and I got a good idea of what my fiancée wanted. I returned later in October and placed an order for a three stone ring.
A few weeks later, I received a phone call telling me that the ring was in and I could come pick it up. I looked at the appraisal that was emailed to me and realized it did not reflect the ring I ordered (3/8 ctw side stones instead of 1/2 ctw). I replied to WDD telling them about the mistake. WDD told me that there was no mistake and the appraisal reflected what I had ordered. I responded with a copy of the receipt, clearly showing that the appraisal was wrong. WDD apologized and said they would update the appraisal.
Within 24 hours, WDD called me and said they looked at the ring and realized the wrong ring was made â the ring matched the appraisal (3/8 ctw), not what I ordered (1/2 ctw). They needed to remake the ring from scratch. Over the next three weeks, the ring was remade 3 times, and sent for âfixingâ 3 additional times when I pointed out the quality was not acceptable (misaligned and long prongs, and discolored metal). At one point in the process I was advised that I could propose with this ring, and then return to WDD after I proposed to send the ring off to have it worked on some more. I declined this â my fiancĂ©e would not want to get an engagement ring in a proposal and immediately have to return it so that it looked good enough to show off.
When the ring came back (a third time) to WDD Roseville, I returned to the store to look at the ring. On this visit, I noticed that when the ring was balanced upside down on the center stone prongs, the ring stood at an angle, indicating two of the prongs were longer than the other two. I pointed this out to the store associate, who said that the ring I had was âthe best they could doâ. For a multi-thousand dollar ring, from a ring store specializing in wedding-related rings, I expected significantly better than this. Their answer, âthe best they could doâ was unacceptable, which I told to the store associate. They responded with the same answer and refused to do any more work on my ring, and did not offer any sort of compensation for their shoddy work and long timeline.
I left the store with the ring, definitely upset and wishing I had never bought a ring from WDD. The ring was NOT a ring I would be willing to propose with. I had to find a way to make it work in order to not delay my proposal by months more.
I decided to bring the ring to the WDD store in Richfield, MN. I explained to that store associate the issue, and showed them the ring the Roseville store had produced. They immediately told me that they could fix it, brought the ring to the in-store jeweler, he looked at the ring, and proceeded to work on it. Around 10 minutes later, I had a ring that sat level and upright (when balanced upside down). This was a ring I would be happy to propose with (with the exception of the massive headache in acquiring it).
Please, avoid this specific WDD store. The Roseville store is unprofessional and unwilling to help. They delayed my proposal by weeks and gave me seemingly endless headaches and stress. If you need a good recommendation, the Richfield store is amazing.

Read moreIf I could give this store zero stars, I would. I am not one to leave bad reviews and I am always willing to give a business a second chance to redeem themselves if there's a bad experience or a big mistake has made. My husband & I brought my wedding and engagement rings into the Roseville location to have them resized and soldered together. I was given an estimate and told that it would take about 2 weeks. 3 weeks had passed and I hadn't heard anything, so I called to check to see if my rings were in. The person I spoke to said that they were in and ready for pick up. My husband & I drove down to the store to pick up my rings and I was so excited to finally have them back. When they were pulled out of the bag, they were not soldered together and when I tried them on, they still felt tight. The size was checked and they were still the same size. So my rings had been sitting at this store for 3 weeks and nothing had been done. I tried to be as understanding as I could be, but respectfully expressed my disappointment. I was sent a text 2 days later saying that my jewelry was ready for pick up. That didn't seem right, so my husband contacted the store for clarity. They couldn't locate my rings at first and told my husband that they would call him back and asked for his phone number. They never called him back and called me instead. The woman I spoke to said that I received the text as an error. I expressed how disappointing this whole process has been, that I was really hoping to have my rings back for Christmas and said that I expected a discount for the inconvenience. About 5 days later, I missed a call from the store and a voicemail was left saying that my rings were in and ready for pick up. Being that each time we were in the store, they closed at 8pm, we just assumed that we had until 8pm to pick it up. We arrived at 7:05 and the employees had closed the store. A helpful tip to Wedding Day employees: Adding the time that you close to a voicemail that is left is a common courtesy especially when your hours obviously fluctuate quite a bit. I left a voicemail that night expressing my displeasure with the entire experience and I never received a call or email from anyone. My husband picked up my ring and there was approximately a 30% discount given, which is not nearly enough given that I was already getting a 20% discount for being a new customer. A 10% discount for such a huge inconvenience is not enough. We will never shop at any of the Wedding Day stores ever again and I regret trusting them with my wedding and...
Read more2025 Update: I really need to stop coming to this location because they seem to just not know what the heck their doing, ever. My wedding band was recently lost, so my jewelry insurance covers the cost of the replacement. Got the paperwork in, signed and I did more than I should have because the manager was so confused on how to go about this. 2 weeks later and I get a text that my stuff was ready so when I arrived they said âsorry, we actually canât let you take the jewelry because we donât have the check.â Organization skills lack here - the place is typically dead, so Iâm really not sure why theyâre so disorganized to not notice payment hadnât gone through yet? I donât live close so I drove a hour for nothing. The manager didnât care at anll either, so after this replacement I will be going elsewhere in the future. This establishment is so bad. ââââââ- Update: This location is not very organized, at all, and I'm not sure why. From my previous experience below (where they gave me the incorrect wedding ring size without checking) to trying to get a custom piece ring has been a complete headache. I have yet to receive a follow-up on our custom jewelry request (it has been MONTHS, we even drove there to sit down with someone for this) I called and left a message, but I have not received a follow-up from the person we were working with, or anyone at this location. We will not be coming back. This establishment has terrible terrible communication. We are very disappointed. Original posting from Sept. 2019: Loved the ability to browse around and open/ try on rings ourselves (which felt more private/ personal). One thing to note is to make sure that when you pick up the ring you have them double check it! Unfortunately, they forgot to check the size when I picked it up so when I proposed to my fiancĂ© it didn't fit (1 size smaller than it was supposed to be). Total disappointment, but the ring is beautiful. Wish they would have checked the size prior to...
