Do NOT go to this store! The past reviews are correct - sales AND management directly mislead customers in order to make a sale. When trading in my phone I was told by the sales it was cheaper for me to get a Bluetooth speaker and tablet than not. I found that hard to believe but the manager came over to confirm that deal. Anyway, I ended up purchasing both with the understanding I would be paying for those items in the agreed price, not straight out.
After receiving my monthly bill I found I was charged multiple times each for the tablet, the speaker, and the phone case. Further, I had been charged $40 for an activation fee for the tablet and it was costing me $10 a month as it was a new phone line. I was NOT ONCE told the tablet was a phone line. After contacting headquarters they took off the extra charges and the activation fee. The rep was really confused as to the charges, the deal offered, and why I was mislead. She refunded the extra charges and the activation fee. She tried contacting the store but was unable to reach them so told me to return the tablet at the store. Today I went to the store...wow, these people should be ashamed of how they rip people off.
The manager, who was the same manager which explained this deal to me, was "helping" me. He looked up the bill and admitted they overcharged me. I told him I wanted a refund for the tablet as they has used manipulation and deception to get me to buy it. He began writing numbers down and stated my bill would be $15 less than what was originally agreed - great. But then he says "if you keep the tablet it will still be less than the original price we agreed on." Excuse me? Are you really trying to sell me something else after you ripped me off? He tried this 3 times. I told him no I don't want anything related to the tablet, I want a full refund. He states "I can refund you but you will be charged a termination fee." My neck almost broke from the head roll. Sorry, no I'm not paying $175 for your negligence to tell me it required a phone line. He said "but you signed the contract" Funny, because when I left the first time I didn't get any copy of a contact. He then brought out a piece of paper with my electronic signature on it "see you signed." See this is where they get you because when you sign it's only a few words about agreeing to the purchase and price. Nowhere on that tablet they have shows the breakdown of prices, so be sure to ask for a hard copy BEFORE you sign. So another deception. He told me Verizon would auto charge me termination and there was nothing he could do to stop that. I said "you or I can call Verizon headquarters right now." He said "you can call." Fortunatly, the lady i had spoken with previous documented our discussion so I didn't have to give too much detail. I told the lady was currently happening. After speaking to her supervisor she said they would waive the termination fee. Very impressed with headquarters btw.
At that point, while on the phone, the manager was refunding me. He then handed me the tablet asking for a signature. I said "what is this I'm signing now?" As all you can see is I agree to $$$..and there it was, I was signing to agree to a $48 refund...the tablet cost $79.99 - wth??!? Now he's trying to cheat me AGAIN?!?! He tried acting like he didnt know how much that tablet was. I grabbed the receipt, which was never provided to me with my electronic signature, to show him $ but come to find out the tablet wasnt even on the reciept!!! How it is not on that recipet but i was chaged on my bill 3 times for it? I refused to sign and stated I wanted the full refund and called him out again for tricking his customers. He did a 2nd refund for the remaining cost (or at least he said so...we will see on the next bill).
I have never in my life been treated like this. I have never seen anyone so desperate for a sale they will try to con you not once, not twice, but countless times and until the bitter end. If he would have refunded me and left it at that I would have been fine...this is utter lack of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm not sure why I even bother to come to an actual Verizon store at this point. Every time I come here it's an endless bait and switch, never about helping you, and all about the salesperson getting a commission by selling you junk you don't want or finding a way to extend your contract.
I came in a very specifically stated what I wanted: add a new iPhone 15 Max to replace an existing phone on my plan. "CJ", my non-talkative salesperson just kind of looked at me, didn't ask any questions, other than also trying to sell me a new iPad, and then disappeared into the back for what seemed an eternity.
When he did finally come back, he had a sheet of paper that had a NEW phone number added to my account with an iPhone 14. When I questioned the "why" of this, since it was not what I asked for, his only response was that it was cheaper this way. When pushed about the numbers he didn't really have a grasp on what he was presenting, and then pulled out a folded piece of paper from his pocket that did have what I was asking for, and then could only say that it was cheaper adding another line. I wasn't real happy about how the numbers were presented, and even if adding another line was the better option, the way it was presented totally seemed like a scam. Since "CJ" didn't seem to know what to do he went and got the "manager" "Les?" who then also came out and did the dance with me which didn't help the situation. I'm pretty sure they were aware of my displeasure with both of them...
Verizon should be a more aware of the damage this kind of interaction does to their brand. I ended up going to Best Buy instead and had an honest transaction without the upsell or bad advice from Verizon. Every experience that I have had at this store has...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI currently have 2 lines on one account with verizon. I have been with them for 7 years. One of the lines is due for an upgrade with a 200.00 credit. I went to the McKnight Verizon store and told Matt that I would like to see about getting my mom a new phone. Hers is doing crazy things, shes really basic so she doesnt need anything really expensive. Also I wanted to price a 3rd line because it's my little sisters birthday and I may want to get her a phone. Thats were i went wrong.. Matt said the Droid was the only phone we could get for my mon because i would get their "special promotion". I would get an additional 200.00 credit if we did. He also said we had to open the third line to get the 200.00. Right then I knew he was just trying to sell and was not being honest. I should have walked right out at that point. Instead I kept asking questions to try and clarify. After sitting there for 3 hours while matt went back and forth claiming he was trying to get that promotion to come back up for him. Matt promised that I was all set and my new bill would be at 183.00. None of that felt right so I called customer service the next day and she explained to me that I could have used the 200 towards any phone. (The newest Droid is around 600 so after the 200 credit I am still paying for the difference on my bill) I also got an email stating my bill is going to be 270 dollars. In witch I did not agree on! I am going to the store today. If they cannot fix this I am canceling my service after 7 years! Totally feel sold... not happy at all! Oh and he also promised that I would not have to pay anything that day and had to pay around...
