Castle AVI — Local services in Royal Oak

Unfortunately, I did not have the positive experience that the other reviewers have had with this company. I called and spoke to Chris the owner regarding getting a cable port installed in my new home. He quoted me that it would cost about $100 and take an hour at the most. He also told me that the earliest appointment he would take was 11 AM.

On the day of installation, he called me and stated he was running behind on his previous appointment, even though I had asked for the earliest possible and that instead of being there at 11, he would be closer to 12. Chris showed up at 12:30 to begin the job. Once it was completed, after 1.5 hours, he told me my cost was actually $242.50 - he had "forgotten" to include the price of equipment which was "always around $100". As the owner of the company, I found it misleading that this was excluded from the initial quote. He additionally claimed he had told me it would take 2 hours, which I know for a fact was not true (I had my young son with me and would have made alternative arrangements if that was the case). When I mentioned it to Chris, he basically just shrugged it off and just asked for his check. Afterwards, when I returned to the home we were currently living in, I found that our cable had been transferred to the new house. Chris indicated it was not him, but it seemed suspicious and I didn't feel like I could trust him given the previous experience at my new home. When discussing this with Chris, he had no problem snaking lines through the wall so there was no need to run lines across the side of my house. I also had him check all the lines to my speakers I use for my surround sound system to make sure they were operating correctly with good signals. Chris is a guy that takes real pride in his work. He hung my TV with my wall mount and used my cables and didn’t rip me off. We had one miscommunication and one component was not hooked up upon completion of the job. I called Chris and he was back at my home in 2 days and ran another HDMI through the walls and completed the job in an hour...without charging me for the additional work! He then stayed another 30 minutes to make sure everything with my system was working. I feel like I can call Chris if anything stops working and he will be back to assist in a very timely manner.
