Update: I decided to follow the directions of the staff at the garage and file a claim with the city. I just received the results back, my claim was 'rejected as without merit'.
So the message is, the city doesn't have control of crime, nor do they want to take responsibility for issues that occur on their property. Park at your own risk.
ATTN: Do not park your car here, it is unsafe (see pictures).
I had to park my car overnight here to pick up a fleet car to conduct state business elsewhere. I came back the next day to my car being broken into. Whoever did was a hack because not only did they break the window, but they damaged the door to the point of it not being able to be opened.
I called the Sac PD and they said I needed to file a police report online. I spoke with various individuals at the garage and they told me the following:
They (the City of Sacramento) have no insurance information to provide to me. (so I can give to my insurance). I will never be reimbursed my out of pocket deductible ($500). They do not have many security cameras just for the auto entrances. (not the stairs or elevators). I would need to call '311' to obtain the incident report they created. I called 311 and is says the number isn't in service. What a joke.
Also, while driving down there were three adult individuals on scooters riding around and almost hit my car again. The attendant said they aren't supposed to be riding around but there is nothing they can do.
To top it off, the garage made me pay my $50 parking fee even after the break-in.
It seems that no one can do anything for the customer in Sacramento, and the crime is out of control. I would think twice about parking in any city facilities,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI parked in City Hall Garage last Friday as my company sponsors concerts in the park. I got to the garage at approximately 3 pm, when I was leaving at 7 pm I put my parking ticket in their machine to pay however their machine did not give me the ticket back. So I called the parking attendant on their machine and the young lady apologized and said just go the exit their will be someone in the booth that can help me. Needless to say I drive to the exit and I explained what happened and he tells me I can't open the gate without a ticket. So I asked him what am I suppose to do, his reply to me "pay $20" I told him that it's not fair as it was their machine that is faulty, at this point I'm highly irritated as Jeff, the parking attendant is being difficult and rude. He had the nerve to ask me what my problem is so I told him your making me pay $20 because of your faulty machine and JEFF had the nerve to say "it's not my fault you lost your ticket" at that point I started treating him exactly how he was treating me. One again, I DID NOT LOOSE MY TICKET YOUR MACHINE DID NOT GIVE IT BACK!!!! My employees are no longer allowed to park in this garage as we reimburse them for parking. I will be going to each and every vendor today to let them know exactly how CITY HALL GARAGE treats people, not to mention anyone else that comes through that parks in this garage. My message to you JEFF you are obviously a miserable human being..... it's not my fault you hate your life. You should NOT be working with people in your miserable existence. You obviously hate your job, so do everyone a favor try using a little human kindness once in a while. You will get no where the way you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe meters sometimes break down. Never had a break-in so far (4 months of daily/nightly use). Security guards are fairly nice/helpful. Best choice in the area for me. Stains/spills on the stairs pretty much straight up donāt get cleaned but the stairs I use donāt smell like urine, so Iāll take it.
The layout is kind of confusing, you have to go up to the fourth floor and partially exit to get down to one section of the third floor.
