I had the pleasure to be with CSSJ from Stockton, CA with leader Stephanie Hatten. They celebrated the 10th year of healing and fighting for gun violence victims. We had great food and service. By losing my mother in November opened my heart, my mine and eyes to grief. Through this organization I'm learning how to grieve. I've also lost a cousin to police gun violence. I didn't get the pain his mother is going through. Now I'm willing to fight for my community. There is too much violence and pain and everything that comes with that. We even had a concert with Ashanti and Tamar Braxton. I was able to hear their stories and know that they also have gone through violence. We all are survivors of violence and when survivors speak, change happens.

It is honestly a beautiful building, with three floors, and with lots of room for events and parties. I would suggest parking at the second closest parking garage to it, it is cheaper, the hotel parking is $25 for a full day, while the other one if you leave after 5 p.m. it is $5. I went there for a convention and they rented out the whole building and it had enough space to fit everyone in. It is easily findable, through the streets, it's just right off the freeway, you just need to drive a few blocks. You can also walk to the state capitol and any food places. It also has a movie theater and a hotel right next door.

Saw Anastasia here while it was in town. Good: the staff were lovely, very kind! Show was okay. Bad: The acoustics in this facility are awful. Like you're coming to see a Broadway show, please Broadway tours go to the Harris Center in Folsom the acoustics are so much better! Or SF... Ugly: Coming from a tech theatre background, I guess most people wouldn't notice the things I did. Spotlights not finding actors, lights not being focused etc, felt like nails in a chalk board... It took me out of the story. Little things though other people probably wouldn't have noticed 😅

This is a GREAT place for a conference, but it's just too big. I understand that with the magnitude of certain events it's necessary, but then the question to ask is if the event is too big. The staff is very nice, the food was surprisingly good, the couple of confusions were the differences between the meeting rooms and the A hall rooms. Location is good for lots of eating options, which helps so everyone is not trying to go to the same 3 or 4 places. There were over 6,000 participants at this conference! Overall, if you have to go here, be prepared to walk A LOT.

The new and improved Community Center theatre is spiffed up and best of all -- lots of new ladies restrooms. No more choosing between a beverage and hitting the restroom at intermission! They added new seating for wheelchairs and companions, new seats throughout and aisles in the orchestra section. All good things. The shows I've seen this season have been fantastic too, especially, of course, Hamilton! :) <3 More great shows coming up with Wicked and Anastasia. Now more than ever, I don't need to drive down to the City (SFO) to see a great Broadway show. :)
