Yes, my friend is heartbroken, about "their" experince. What they told me was that the Cooks, waitresses, and female Boss was very undercover prejudice, from burnt food to a blonde hair in their food to wanting them to fit a black profile stereotype. All they came to do was sing and they felt very unwelcomed and it was a false welcome. Because they wasnt angry or sung rap songs they were not accepted. They gave them a $50 gift card prize on who sung the best, but then turned around and said that they wanted them to purchase food. The waitress said "oh no I want you to stay", when she really didnt, she even insinuated it in a song stating they "didnt belong there". They were concerned about their white customers being ran away. God dont like ugly! Elks will not prosper for doing a child of God wrong. And racism on any level from anyone is evil and from the devil. If you dont want blacks in the Elk you should probably say it outside on a sign. What goes around come around. Something will come through there. I'm going to expose this wicked place on the news because my friend was so hurt. They treated them like they were a charity case. Black people are human beings with class as well. Black people are...
Read moreMy wife Mary and I selected the Elks Tower Ballroom as the venue for our wedding reception. The entire experience leading up to and during the reception vastly exceeded our expectations! This is in no small part due to Kristine Ayers, the Ops Manager for the Elks who we primarily liaised with. Kristine is pleasant, punctual, and professional; moreover, she pushed hard to make our various requests for the reception a reality at every turn, which was a huge relief and validated our choice of the Elks Tower for our reception.
Kristine is wonderful, but so is the Elks Tower itself! We wanted a Gatsby-esque/art deco aesthetic for our reception, and the Elks Tower Ballroom was the perfect, elegant venue to make that possible. What’s more, the Elks Tower is able to provide many beautiful vendor items effortlessly, which simplified the planning process. In particular, the food we selected was absolutely delicious and our guests raved about it: some are still doing so!
Many thanks to Kristine and the Elks for making our dreams come true!
Warm regards, John and...
Read moreWe just hosted a company holiday party here. I cannot say enough good things about it. The space is gorgeous and is perfectly constructed to accommodate groups of all sizes. We had less than 150 people so we just used the lower level of the ballroom, but the upper level balconies could have made it easy to host a group much larger. Kristine and Sabrina were great. They arranged a tour of the facility ahead of time and answered all my questions. They gave me honest recommendations for what they thought would work for our type of event. They clearly have a lot of experience. Everything was coordinated ahead of time so I simply had to show up and enjoy the event. Everything was ready on time and there were no issues that needed me to intervene. The city hall parking garage is right across the street and made it very easy for all our guests to park there and walk right over to the venue. We will definitely be...
