I paid $170. ish dollars for Joshua to fix the machine to sew and sound as good as it did when I first bought it there; but I question his integrity. So here's some advice:
When Joshua brings you your sewing machine with a sample of different stich styles he had supposedly sewn, ask him to sew them in front of you; because when I started sewing on it at home, the machine sounded all rickety with uneven stiches until l adjusted the lower tension foot (located on the bobbin). Well, how could he have sewn all those pretty stiches without adjusting the lower tension foot? Joshua showed me the old parts that he replaced or fixed, so the machine should reflect the repairs and not sound rickety, in my opinion.
Plus, upon previous agreement, Joshua was going to sharpen my scissors; but he kept just tightening them and standing there like a dummy. Finally, after he paid attention to me having kept showing him the scissors weren't cutting right, he went and sharpen the scissors, which now work wonderful -- thank goodness.
I'm also thankful I got my sewing machine to make decent stiches, but it never sounded rickety when I first bought it. (Unless a man, on the bus, to whom I said I was ok, and he entered my place and made the machine just ok instead of great, I have to think it was a Jensen's employee).
I will call and express my concern (and adjust this review accordingly) -- like my sewing machine will miraculously sound like it was perfectly fixed with new parts, etc., as it did when I first bought it and lasted a good twenty years before a tune-up, so hopefully, it'll go another twenty years.
Update: Joshua left a message that he had two questions for me but didn't express his desire to fix my sewing machine from the $170 ish. I then asked/texted that he could text me the instructions -- but haven't heard from him since then.
Bottom line: When told of a price from Jensen's, get a statement (which he conveniently didn't do); and, of course, make sure you can see some integrity in a...
Read moreWe found Jensen's online when searching for a Kirby Vacuum repair facility and the customer reviews assured us we would be in good care with them. In one afternoon, our issue was handled beautifully. As a Bed and Breakfast owner, we rely on vacuum cleaning 24/7 and when a motor started burning out......panic set in. From the first call to Julie, to communication from Mark, the customer service was exceptional and the work performed FANTASTIC. Kirby runs like new again thanks to valuable feedback of findings that other components like the brush roller and transmission sluggishness needed attention. Mark is obviously experienced but was also clear and concise in explanation. The cost was very reasonable but again - it's the customer care and this will keep us confident for all future needs whenever they arise and we will pass the word. Thank you folks - we and OUR customers too! -Eric & Jarod...
