My fiance and I had been searching for a ring with a durable stone—something that could better withstand daily wear than my beloved mother-of-pearl engagement ring. Since we’re getting married in Salem, we thought it would be really special to find something meaningful here.
We first visited another jewelry store in town, but the experience felt rushed, impersonal, and a bit sketchy. We left feeling so discouraged and disappointed that we decided to treat ourselves to a pick-me-up from Whimsy’s to salvage the day. As luck would have it, Whimsy’s was closed for renovations. Just when the day was feeling like a total bust, we spotted a cute shop next door we hadn’t been in before. On a whim, we decided to check it out, not even realizing they sold jewelry.
We were greeted warmly and welcomed in to browse, and it didn’t take long to notice the jewelry displays. I was so drawn in by their collection, which felt unlike anything I’d seen before. Mike was nearby the rings and encouraged me to try things on “even if it’s just for funsies!” Instantly our day was revived and our hope renewed.
I took my time trying on many pieces and when I tried on the Snapdragon ring, something clicked. “This is it” I told my fiance and Mike, holding back happy tears. I loved everything about it: the marquise diamond, the starburst-like mix of baguette and round side stones, the open gallery that lets you see the diamond from underneath. Rose gold wasn’t even on my radar before, but once I saw this ring on my finger, it just made sense. The setting was high enough to pair flush with a band, but low enough not to snag on everything. This was the first place I’d shopped where it felt like a real human had considered not only how the design would look, but how it would feel to wear every day.
Mike was hands down the best salesperson I’ve ever encountered.. for anything… ever lol. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, down-to-earth, patient, authentic, a great listener, and has a refreshing sense of humor. I never once felt pressured. Even after I claimed the ring as “the one”, Mike didn’t push for an immediate deposit or commitment. For any questions he wasn’t 100% certain about, he promised to check with the owner, Jenni, and get back to us thoughtfully.
Sure enough he followed up by email with detailed notes on everything we discussed, options for customizations, creation timelines, price breakdowns (including for the wedding band I also fell in love with that same day!), and a kind reminder that the process was still totally pressure-free. I felt so seen and cared for, and that made me confident in choosing them for something this special.
In coming back to pick up my wedding band, we had the pleasure of meeting Jenni. She is a GEM (no pun intended). She told us one of her favorite creative challenges is when someone sends her a jumbled Pinterest board of ideas and she gets to unravel the common thread and come up with a custom design that links those elements together. It is apparent that she is not only dedicated to this craft, she is fueled by it.
I can’t recommend this shop or these people enough. I wouldn’t be taking the time to write a detailed review if I didn’t feel genuinely moved by the attention, care, and joy I experienced here. I’m so glad that by total chance (or maybe fate?) we stumbled upon Jenni Stuart.
I also want to note that this isn’t just a jewelry store. They are jewelers. They are goldsmiths. They are MAKING the pieces right there in the shop in sight of the shoppers. This isn’t a place where your design gets sent off and shipped back from an anonymous factory. It’s being handcrafted with skill and intention and made to last. This is a small business that excels at what they do and go the extra mile to see their clients light up with a piece of their dreams.
Here, in the heart of Salem, they...
Read moreMy fiancée and I both got our rings at Jenni Stewart and could not be happier with how they turned out! My fiancée is also leaving a review and will post more photos of her rings (2 bands) there, and she’s so in love with them. The engraving turned out so beautifully and is in my handwriting, which Mike made so easy for us! We also loved how obviously queer-friendly and safe the environment was, and would recommend Jenni Stewart to any lgbtq+ couples.
I opted for a custom design with mine and I literally cannot find words to express how beautiful this ring is. I keep trying to take pictures but nothing captures the way it glistens and sparkles, especially in the sun! I love the height, because it doesn’t stick up too much and it hasn’t snagged or caught on anything. I can tell the marquis diamonds on the band are really well secured and I don’t feel them rubbing against my other fingers at all! I just cannot get over how high quality this jewelry is.
I didn’t know anything about diamonds and the staff was so helpful explaining all the different aspects/things to consider. I was on the fence with the specific diamond, and am SO happy I had Jenni Stewart’s guidance because I would literally not change a thing about my ring! I absolutely would trust their expertise if you feel lost selecting the diamond/stone.
We actually live in Colorado and happened to stop in on a whim while we were visiting Salem. Best decision ever! Jenni Stewart made the design process and all communications so easy, there was no stress at all doing things remotely. Mike was who we first talked to and he was so warm and friendly, and didn’t rush or pressure us at all. He even encouraged us to visit other jewelers first before making a decision, but we didn’t feel a need :)
If you’re on the fence about going with Jenni Stewart for engagement/wedding rings please do it! We originally planned on getting me a “starter” ring to save money and upgrading one day, but Jenni Stewart was able to work with our budget and I now feel like I already have my “forever” ring. Such a great experience and final product, and I will definitely be using them for my wedding band next year, and other jewelry...
Read moreI cannot say enough good things about Jenni Stuart and her team. I had two very important and personal projects done by her - an engagement ring and an heirloom piece. I don't even know which one to rave about first because they both came out spectacular! The engagement ring is so unique and something you would never be able to get at a big box jewelry store. I wanted something that encompassed my partner's love for science as well as her love for the color red. Jenni is amazing with listening to you and takes every little request or idea and turns it into reality. She found stones I never even knew existed with colors and inclusions that are more beautiful than any words or pictures could ever express. The heirloom piece also came out even better than I imagined. I had a rough idea of how I wanted the piece to look, but Jenni even exceeded that and managed to somehow get herself into my brain to pull out the most elegant looking design that is modern yet still timeless - something my grandmother would have loved. I could even picture my grandmother wearing it herself which is even more special. She took these tiny diamonds and sapphires that didn't look good in the pieces they were in (sorry Grandma) and turned them into a stunning piece that did the stones far more justice. And she did this all while trying to pay homage to the look of a ring my grandmother had worn every day of her life that meant the world to me. Like I have said already, photos do not even begin to do these rings justice so please visit Jenni and her team in person. You will get to see the work in person and you will meet the most amazing team of people I have ever met. For sure my...
